It's hard to believe but less than four days from now Chris, Brad and Nick will be on the ground in LA, torturing themselves to bring you the best coverage of E3 they can muster. Until then, they are left to consider what is to come and prepare their bodies. Here are their #3 most anticipated picks for the show.
Brad's #3: Deep Down
Deep Down lost almost ALL it's hype as soon as Capcom announced it would be a free-to-play game. And yes, that is certainly terrifying. But come on! The game still looks sweet. And the last big new IP from Capcom was Dragon's Dogma. DRAGON'S DOGMA! That game was incredible. So excuuuse me for still being excited about their next fantasy action RPG.
At a glace it kinda looks like Dark Souls. And that's another reason I'm excited. I like the slower paced and more cerebral combat encounters from that series, and I hope design philosophy carries over into Deep Down. Another thing I've noticed is there seems to be aiming and location damage much like Resident Evil 4. Carefully choosing where to thrust a spear into an enemy is a mechanic I simply haven't seen before in a video game.
It's also great that there's a co-op component to this game. I feel like the one thing that was missing from Dragon's Dogma was the option to take on those giant monsters with other players. Well, Deep Down is solving that problem. This game seriously looks like Monster Hunter meets Dark Souls meets Dragon's Domga! How can I NOT be excited?! But I need to get my hands on it. If the game doesn't play well, then my boner will fade fast. So I need to find out. And Capcom could always change their mind on this free-to-play crap right? RIGHT?!?
Nick's #3:Halo 5: Guardians
When Bungie passed the torch to 343, I was even more surprised by how much I was enjoying the experience. It marks one of the few instances in my gaming career in which my negative impression of a franchise made such a swift 180. With 343's freshman outing in the universe behind them and a team that I am sure is more comfortable working within such a massive franchise, Halo 5 Guardians has become one of the strongest arguments for myself throwing down the cash for an Xbox One.
Chris' #3: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
A fan of high fantasy titles I am not nor have I ever been. Elves, Orcs, talking trees and all that bullshit? Yeah, that's not really for me. Give me a laser sword and set it in space any day. HOWEVER, I do give a well-deserved pass to CD Projekt RED's Witcher series. Though I never got into the first game, I tried the second on the off-chance that I might get to review it and I did just that. After putting dozens of hours into it, I fell in love with the character put into the world, the brutal but fair combat system and its assortment of thoughtfully made cast members.
The Witcher 3 was probably one of the best games to see at last year's E3 and the only thing I find to be a shame about it is that CDPR never got around to releasing that fantastic 45 minute demo they showed off to the press. The Witcher 3 has some fantastic ideas to it and I'll be damned if it doesn't appear on Nick and Brad's lists before Sunday. I can't wait to share more about the game with you guys next week.

Deep Down has me interested, but probably not enough to buy a PS4.

I don't know how to feel about Halo 5 or Deep Down, but the Witcher 3 definitely has my attention.
