I really, really like Sam Lake. The writer/creator of Max Payne and Alan Wake, there is a magic to his writing and the worlds he has created which tap into some vibe no other creator is able to do. Playing a game made under his command is always quite a trip, and as a result, Quantum Break stands as an Xbox One exclusive title which would make me want an Xbox One.

But it’d be nice to see more of the thing.

See, I like Sam Lake a lot, and I never expect to see a trailer’s worth of content from a mere teaser, but releasing a two minute long video featuring a one minute ten second monologue from Lake telling us we won’t see more of the game until Gamescom this summer is a bit of a bummer.

It’s nice in a way to have been told ahead of E3 the game won’t be featured at E3 so as not to get our hopes up, but the real loss here is obviously anticipation of seeing more than roughly thirty seconds of content cut up into a montage.

What we see is slick, and a grand extension of the bullet time mechanic they just about perfected is quite cool, but I won’t be picking up an Xbox One until I have something solid to go on.

That may come in 2015, when Quantum Break finally rolls out.

I love the Max Payne series and I have yet to play Alan Wake (I know, but there are so many games out there!), but I am quite interested in what this game is and, like you Zack, this game may be the one that makes me buy an Xbox One sometime down the line.
