The Week of August 26, 2013

The weekend is finally here! Time to recap some important news buzzing around the game industry.

  • Happy PAX Prime weekend! For those who weren't able to attend, have you watched any live streams of panels? Share in the comments!

  • Episode 330 is live and ready for your ears! This week the guys talked about Saints Row IV, Splinter Cell Blacklist, another Batman movie in the horizon and more.

  • Jason Schreier of Kotaku gives us an in-depth sneak peek into the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, promising that BioWare are "saying the right things."

  • Have you listened to some of the radio samplers for GTA V's new soundtrack? Check them out here.

  • Make sure to give our writer and podcaster Chris Davis' review of Splinter Cell Blacklist a read!

  • As of September 20th, the Wii U will see a $50 drop in price. I still don't see myself picking one up, what about you?

  • Choice: Texas is a game that will merge politics in its narrative by boldly discussing abortion.

  • Mega Man's Keiji Inafune has launched a Kickstarter for a "classic-inspired side-scrolling action game to be developed by an all-star team of Mega Man devs."

  • Last weekend was Fan Expo Canada, an annual event that merges comics, games, sci-fi, horror and anime into one nerdy as hell experience. I'm shamelessly plugging the #1reasonwhy panel that I moderated about women in video games which is recapped here!

  • Saints Row IV is starting off with a bang by topping a million sales in its first week.

  • Have you had the chance to pick up Killer is Dead or Spelunky on the Vita? Share what you've been playing this past week!
That wraps it up for this week. If a game-related event occurs during the week and you think it deserves a mention, then please contact me and let me know.

Just pledged for the Mighty no 9, definitely want to see this project fully funded.

Good to hear SR4 is doing well it will probably be my goty for 2013.

I still don't see myself picking up a Wii U unless the price drop is $100 or more.

This past week I played through SR3 in order to get ready for SR4 which I am currently having a blast with.

Choice: Texas sounds about as interesting and nerve-crushing as one would expect. I wonder how open-ended it will truly be.

Saint's Row 4 selling as well as it has is kind've cool. It's even cooler that Volition (I believe) has said it's gonna drop the series for a while. Not milking something dry is almost always a good thing to see.
