Do you remember the original Saints Row, a game which was basically the more punkish version of GTA which we played to tide ourselves over until GTA IV? In Saints Row, you played a low-level thug on a quest to conquer the city of Stillwater, set to a pretty GTA-esque partially satirical tone.
In Saints Row IV, you are the President of the United States of America and you have super powers and there are aliens and you will use your super powers to kill those aliens in the name of freedom.
Right on the heels of announcing the fascinatingly named "Super Dangerous Wub Wub" collector's edition, here comes Saints Row IV's "War for Humanity" trailer, two minutes of content so truly bonkers that every attempt I have made in the course of writing this article to summarize it has failed. We are looking at a game that is satirizing action movies, Mass Effect 3, jingoism, and itself with such bombast that you almost have to respect it.
Just watch the trailer. Seriously.

When I played the original saints row I thought of it as nothing but a cheap GTA SA knock off but to see SR come this far is just amazing. Hats of Volition for taking a boring game and turning it into this.

Having enjoyed the first two SR games, I was really disappointed with what I played from 3. But, after watching this trailer I can't stop laughing...maybe I'll give SR3 another chance. This trailer won me over by not taking itself too seriously...and Keith David is just awesome.
