In the very beginning of Murdered: Soul Suspect, you die.

Developer Airtight Games thrust you into the plot of Murdered with a bang. Scruffy noir detective Ronan O'Connor, through a presumably wacky series of events, gets wrapped up in a burglary and ends up on the wrong end of a vicious killer's temper. As you can see in the trailer, this is far from the end for dear Ronan, and he is given a suite of supernatural powers and a chance to solve his own murder and battle supernatural forces around the city.

This is the kind of trailer I want to see more of. Look at the mist, the neo-noir color scheme, the clothing that Ronan wears- there's a vibe to this thing just a minute into its existence. I wish there was more gameplay so we could actually dig beyond how the thing just feels, because right now it could be anything from supernatural L.A. Noire to a Western-designed Ghost Trick to a noir Shadows of the Damned.

Okay, wait, all of those things sound awesome.

Murdered: Soul Suspect will release in early 2014 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Interesting game for Airtight to develop, I hope this doesn't follow the previous trend of their earlier games of start of ambitious and new and end up stale and overdone.
