Ubisoft is apparently addicted to revealing footage of Watch Dogs, as by now I feel like I have seen more of this game than games I actually own. Still, I'm looking forward to the game, and more footage at least catches my eye.

This video, unlike the CG trailer released yesterday and shown at Ubisoft's press conference today, is all gameplay. What we see is interesting in that there's more here than driving and shooting with the occasional bit of techno-wizardry, but some real puzzle-solving and a kind of pseudo-stealth sequence that looks pretty fun. If the game contains many more sequences like these, which cleverly play on the game's foundations instead of retreading familiar ground, Watch Dogs' mission variety should be something impressive.

Of course, the whacking and shooting and escaping is all well and good, and a particular moment where protagonist Aiden is cornered by two police offers stands out as an especially cool moment, but the strongest takeaway for me is the knowledge that the developers are playing around with the hacking concept.

Watch Dogs releases this fall for every home console released or to be released in the last eight years except for the Wii.
