Deus Ex: The Fall is not the sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and as a fan of the series, that is something that makes me sad. What Deus Ex: The Fall does represent, however, is an attempt from developer Eidos-Montreal to bring a deep, content-rich game to iOS, and if this trailer is any indication, they might pull it off.

Now, we all know that trailers are spliced-together bits of what the marketing team wants us to see and are generally not indicative of a game's overall quality, but we do have to commend the powers that be for coming straight out with a trailer that is so heavy on gameplay. If only major console releases were so forward! The graphics are rough around the edges, but they really seem to be trying to show us that this is a legitimate Deus Ex game- hacking, the full suite of augmentations, gunplay (maybe a little too much gunplay), hub areas are all in there- and if they really are pulling all of it off on iOS, a dip in graphical sheen and frame rate might not be so bad.

Check it out for yourself. Perhaps I'm deluding myself so the announcement won't sting quite as much.

Doesn't look bad at all it looks like the time is actually trying to make a decent handheld game, but I highly doubt my iPhone would be able to run it and I don't intend on buying an IPad anytime soon.
