As some of you may be aware, every year developer Double Fine goes through a two week process called "Amnesia Fortnight".  During this two week process the company stops working on their current projects and splits into smaller teams in order to develop gameplay prototypes that could turn into full-fledged projects.  Many rather joyous titles like Costume Quest, Stacking and Iron Brigade (originally called Trenched) came out of Amnesia Fortnights and, this year, Double Fine is opening up about the process.

Starting today through the end of the week, Double Fine, along with 2 Player Productions (the documentary team covering the Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter project) and the fine folks at Humble Bundle will be allowing people to vote on an array of 23 different and unique pitches with the top four being developed into prototypes.  You can view the pitch videos at the Double Fine/Humble Bundle page here.

As an incentive for contributing, in addition to getting the top four prototypes once they are finished, Double Fine will be giving you the prototype for Costume Quest as well as Happy Smile the concept that eventually became Once Upon A Monster.  You can pay what you want so really, what's not to love?

For me, my #1 choice has to be Kaiju Piledriver, a Godzilla-inspired romp in which you attack corporation-run cities as a giant monster.  I'm also interested to see what could come from The White Birch, Black Lake and, for a laugh, Silent But Deadly.  Watch the pitch video above and then head on over to the voting page to see all the 30 second pitch videos in full.

This is such a spectacular idea. 'Autonomous' sounds like it could be really fun.

From the title I was expecting a cross between Amnesia and Fortnite made by Double Fine. This is pretty cool too though. I'll pick it up regardless of which games are in it.
