Unless you've been sleeping under a rock for weeks, it's likely you've heard of Subset Games' star-ship commander, rogue-like Faster Than Light. This hard-as-balls, PC strategy-indie is getting a lot of love, in nearly every gamer circle on the planet, and it deserves it.

So why is it we're not enjoying FTL on the go, on our tablets and smart-devices?

Recently, Justin Ma of Subset Games considered the notion -- as reported by Touch Arcade -- and has hinted at a future for FTL on iPad. When asked, Justin replied; "We would like to get it onto tablets at some point in the future." Justin also noted, "I can't say whether it's feasible or not, but we will look into it eventually."

Justin, it's a no-brainer...and we WANT IT! The idea of having FTL at my finger-tips during daily commutes and lunch breaks makes me moist.

Only time will tell when we will see the expansion of Faster Than Light onto mobile-platforms, but I'm betting it'll be sooner than the excitement wearing off.

So...moist!

it would be kinda hard to do...hard for a ipad, next to impossible for a phone. main reason is that the screen is tiny and trying to micromanage tiny things on a tiny screen would be problematic....image trying to select a certain door on ur ship to vent, now imagine the inputs u would need it u was already controlling say one of ur crew members...how about power managing? u tap something to add power, but how do u decrease the power? what about those little icons for teleport and cloak? oh man trying to group ur party that boards a ship via teleporter and then trying to teleport them out would be a nightmare. they would need a whole new interface from the ground up and a pause icon would need to be placed somewhere that wont get in the way of ur commands.

The only "button" FTL uses is the escape button. Everything else is done with the mouse, and could just as easily be done with a finger. I'd certainly pay full price for this game on IOS and if it comes to fruition, I will be moistening up as well.
