After months of silence, Irrational Games and 2K Games have finally kick started the marketing push for Bioshock Infinite that will certainly see this project through to its launch. We spoke on the podcast recently about concerns about the project following the departure of several key members of the development team. The game had been shrouded in darkness since E3 and rumors of the troubled development has been making the rounds for months. Truth be told, those concerns are still valid. With that said...

HOLY FUCKING SHIT BALLS!

Pardon the outbust but that trailer is incredible! Once again, we get a brief look into the gameplay as well as the art direction that, to me, appears to be some of the most cohesive and awe inspiring that I have seen this year. While we obviously get another glimpse at the mysterious Song Bird and the creepy Handyman enemy types, those moments are overshadowed by the scenes depicting the floating city of Columbia. Even in the trailers, I get that feeling of "place." That sense that the world existed long before the player steps foot on the ground.

Perhaps most interesting to me however is the brief glimpse we get early on in the trailer that depicts Booker DeWitt (our hero) in a boat that is approaching a lighthouse... a lighthouse that bares a striking resemblance to the lighthouse at the beginning of the original Bioshock. I even think I saw a Big Daddy somewhere in that footage though I could just be seeing things. Regardless though, the game looks stunning and my curiosity regarding the plot and the connection (if any) to the original games has peaked.

Oh yeah... the game now has a release date of February 26, 2013! Not too long of a wait if you ask me! Now let us hope that the rocky development hasn't impacted the quality of the experience.

Im wondering too about the lighthouse, that seems to much of a coincidence to not be the same one from Bioshock. Perhaps it involves it in some way partially connecting to two places.

The trailer was amazing, im so hyped for this game : )

I'm still scratching my head as to why so many have been leaving this project. This trailer alone makes me want this game despite me not being very interested in it before. And if I'm interested now of all times... I figure that's a good sign. So what's going on behind the scenes that's making people run away from it I wonder.

Eh, I didn't think it was that impressive. Probably because the song went from soul to hard rock. Really felt it was unfitting.

There really aren't an awful lot of games that are 'day one' for me, but this definitely fits the bill. I can hardly wait!
