A new gameplay trailer has been released for Insomniac Games' coop third person shooter Fuse, formerly known as Overstrike. Along with the name change, Fuse comes with a completely reworked aesthetic.
The difference is quite surprising when you compare the Fuse trailer below with the original Overstrike trailer from E3 2011. The new trailer certainly looks like it's lacking in personality and humor but at least it makes up for it with large explosions, gore, and a dark and dull color palette. As if we didn't have enough of those already.
Art style aside I remain interested in the coop, weapon effects, and character skills. Still, despite my attempts to remain positive about Fuse the idea of what could of been still nags at me. I doubt I'll ever get over their decision to remake the original lively aesthetic into something that honestly looks quite soulless and generic.
Fuse is expected to release sometime in March 2013.

Meh I'm still going to be optimistic because Insomniac usually make games which I enjoy and this will most likely be the same. I do wish they had stayed with the original concept but I'd rather half a decent game rather than no game at all.

The gameplay looks like it it could still be worth at least experiencing, but there just does not seem to be any redeeming qualities to anything else. I can't say what Overstrike could have been considering we only got the one trailer of it, but what we have here seems to be another modern/near future military shooter with maybe a couple of interesting mechanics.

The sad part is, it's the same trailer Overstrike had, just in this gameplay form, so I can pretty much compare interest... I don't have much for this.
