Are you a stealth or action man? That is the question Crytek wants to ask you in this new interactive trailer for Crysis 3, which gives you the option at two key points to choose between a sneaky stealth approach, or a more direct, aggressive approach. Watch/play the video below and experience it for yourself.
This type of trailer, which demonstrates gameplay and integrates interaction, is a thousand times better than the CGI movie trailer approach to promoting games. As for the game itself, it looks like it's shaping up to be a reasonably entertaining shooter like its predecessor, but fancy new crossbow aside, I don't see any remarkable steps forward for the series here. The same dreary post-apocalyptic setting returns, albeit with more fauna this time, and the "action bubbles" still look like an awkward compromise between the more open-world style of the first game and a straight-laced linear shooter, although the demo does offer a few tantalising glimpses of expansive looking areas.
The good news for anyone planning on buying a Wii U is that Crysis 3 might end up being released on Nintendo's new console. In an interview with CVG, Crysis 3 producer Mike Read said that a Wii U version was "a possibility" and that Crytek "are working with Nintendo."
Crysis 3 is set to be released in February 2013.

I really like this new format of trailers I hope more game devs utilise this tool when promoting their games....... well at least for those games that actually have some variety.

The stealthy gameplay sure did have a lot of explosions and alarms... Ever since Warhead the progress of this game has fallen off. Crysis 2 became more linear and mainstream with less options and more boom boom explosion action. Crysis 3 looks like more of the same.

I'm really digging the whole "city overtaken by a jungle" theme they're doing this time around. Way better than generic New York from Crysis 2.

[...] Borderlands, I am a huge fan of this kind of interactive promotional marketing. Much like the interactive trailer used to promote Crysis 3, this ‘hands on’ approach is a great way to make the build-up [...]
