Chasing Aurora is the next game from Austrian developer Broken Rules, who previously developed the PC and later WiiWare title And Yet it Moves. The trailer above displays the tone of the game, an updated origami art style, as well as some dynamic music. The game is said to be "an explorative 2D aerial action game about the dream of flight."

"Drop from the cliff and ride the wind from peak to peak. Fight for the beacon of light in the hostile environment of the Alps," the trailer description says of the single player gameplay, which sounds slightly similar to the multiplayer mode first shown off at PAX Prime 2011. In that mode, players compete over a beacon that the camera follows. Players then capture the beacon and attempt to get away from the other players by swooping through the environment. If the beacon carrier was the only player on screen for a period of time, they win.

Chasing Aurora is planned for release sometime this year. Platforms are unannounced, though Broken Rules' engine supports Linux, Mac OS and Windows.

I loved AND YET IT MOVES, glad to see they're sticking with in the same line of aesthetics. It's weird how there aren't more flying games, like Flower, capable of such euphoria. Can not wait for this.

Is this going to be a Wii U exclusive? Because that would be a shame.
