There's plenty to be debated about the next entry in the Hitman universe and while I'm optimistic about the new title retaining many of its original qualities while adding new story-based elements, Brad, Nick and several others are decidedly against this new vision based on what's been revealed so far.  Though I feel that IO Interactive's lack of focus on the series' tried-and-true sandbox gameplay is detrimental to series fans who want to step back in the shoes of Agent 47 I can't help but feel that what we've seen thus far doesn't represent more than perhaps 30% of the game.  That's just my opinion though.

Leading up to E3 and the eventual release of the game, IO and Square Enix are showing off different aspects of Agent 47 in a series of videos not unlike what Rockstar has done to promote Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3.  Will it be enough to convince the skeptics about the game?  Let us know in the comments.

To me, this trailer just solidifies Brad's fears. They showed the same single disguise scene they showed before for the game, and all sorts of boom-pow, explosion, machine gun, third person shooter action. There was stealth, but it was different from the typical stealth in a Hitman game (crawling through vents, crouching behind objects and sneaking around vs the disguises). It seems like it could still be a decent game, but i don't think it's going to be a Hitman game in the same light as the previous entries in the series.

hmmm... i think i'm going to take the optimistic route on this one. there was some pretty cool stuff in that trailer like the toy robot distraction and i would imagine if they implemented features like that along with smooth stealth mechanics in a hitman game it could work quite well... but of course that is IF they say true to the original hitman style and don't follow in the footsteps of SP: Conviction

I like how he used the toy car as a clever distraction, then used his silenced pistol to shoot... an explosive canister. What are they thinking? In a real hitman game you'd turn the valve on that thing and put a lit cigarette on the table, then sometime later in the level that room would explode and kill someone making it look like an accident. There are too many dudes being shot in this trailer.

I wont say I like where this is going, but I understand why they are doing it. A lot of people didn't like the old Hitman games because there was a limited play style The games were not exactly conducive to run and gun, though it was possible, but they wanted you to play stealthy. So I understand why they are adding the, in what my opinion is, thoughtless gun toting play style. Simple, you run in, shoot people and you're done, there is no trial and error and wasted time, some people like that and I hope they buy the game. I am not the type to condemn a game before I even play it, I have my doubts, but I still have faith. They can put in all the guns, explosions, and violent murder they want, provided I can still play the game like I did the old ones. If I can sneak through a level, never firing a shot and only using a few non lethal components I'll be happen. If I can poison donuts and feed them to security guards in a van it'll make my day. I honestly don't know why people are freaking out about this. yes the game has the ability to shoot everyone, if you don't like it, don't do it. Now if they put in several mandatory scenarios where I am forced into open gun combat, I will probably be pretty upset, but I am sure it will still have the Hitman elements we all know and love.
I'm excited for this game. It is innocent until proven guilty.
