It seems that Gears fans have a lil' something more to get excited about this E3. Microsoft seems to have another Gears of War title to close out this console-generation with. Rumor has it, the folks at People Can Fly have been working on this behind the scenes, with suspicious tweets of excitement coming from the Head of the Epic-owned development house.
Game Informer's mouths are sealed on details, only letting up on a July issue cover. The cover will leave fans of the series with tons of questions, I'm sure. Luckily, it won't be long till we get some more information.
My guess...is that this joints going to end up being the open-world FPS Gears game you've dreamed of.
Feast your eyes on the July issue cover of GI, and be sure to flood the comments with predictions on what this next Gears game could be.

Given the character who's face you can't see is in shackles, my guess is that this is a prequel with the events leading up to Marcus's incarceration (this is probably who's front and center) right before Gears 1 takes place.
That's just a guess, but I'd rather they went a different direction with the series and actually focused on other characters that don't have the emotional predictability of a rock.

Its way too soon for a new gears, The series wrapped up so well too. But an "open-world FPS Gears", hmm that sounds good. That's different enough from previous gears yet still has all the things you love.

Pendulum Wars and Aspho Fields would be awesome to relive since we hear so little from them in the games themselves!

Not looking forward to this. The third I played only because alot of my xbl friends got it. I don't really want to play a game about the events before the first when I think the novels have already told that story.

Will most likely be a mediocre game to an already mediocre series IMO

Man, I'm a pretty big gears fan, but by the time I finished 3 I felt like enough was enough. I kind of hoped the series would be done, or at least wait until next gen to do something.
On the other hand, open world gears?
I guess I wouldn't mind running around the countryside with my bros, shootin grubs and bro-in it up.
