Nick and Bob reflect on their experiences with Silent Hill Downpour, the latest western-developed entry in the cult-franchise. They discuss the reasons why they feel the game is deserving of praise as well as the reasons that the game is not quite as noteworthy as it could be. Is the combat finally improved? Is it spooky? Does it feel like a Silent Hill game should? All of these questions are addressed without any story specific spoilers! Look for volume 2 in a couple weeks to hear our spoiler-filled discussion!

Oh my, a new game I actually own..

Can't wait to listen. Thanks guys! I'm also eager to hear the spoiler-filled one. I'm about 70% through the game myself, but I want to replay as I've missed several things, I know.. And for different endings.

I remember the siren was in Homecoming also. I actually liked Homecoming despite what people say about it. The only real problem I had with it was the pyramid head appearance. I thought the combat wasn't really hard or frustrating and the story was a tad above decent for me.
As for downpour, I really want to try this game out. The only thing I'm really hating is the enemy design. But the thing is the enemies shouldn't have been reused or even similar in any of the silent hill games. So I'm glad they're trying some new things but it was the other devs fault that I miss the old style :/

Good show guys! It's great to know that I'm not the only one in the world who actually liked Downpour. I love how disturbing the "combat tutorial" is; it's a great twist on a modern convention.
Personally, I enjoy the HD Collection. They did change some stuff, but they did release a patch to fix some things.
