Introversion Software, the British indie studio founded in 2001 by Chris Delay, Mark Morris and Thomas Arundel, are making it clear they aren’t returning to Darwinia—the strategy game originally released in 2005 that gave them wider exposure.
“We made this video to celebrate the successful completion of Darwinia+ [an Xbox Live Arcade release that combined the single player Darwinia with the multiplayer-focused Multiwinia] in 2010. By the time we shipped D+ we'd worked on Darwinia for nearly ten years, and we'd just had enough. We could think of nothing more satisfying than to destroy as many Darwinians as humanly possible,” states the description for the just recently posted video on Introversion’s YouTube channel.
In the video they do just that—they boil, burn, nail and even pour acid on many little Darwinians, the digital inhabitants one normally tries to protect in the game.
After putting their procedurally generated heist game, Subversion, on hold, Introversion are now setting their sights on Prison Architect, which is (as it sounds) a game where one must construct and manage a prison. A teaser video was released a few months ago and the game is said to be influenced by “Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper, or just about anything by Bullfrog.”

That's pretty awesome. I'm really looking forward to Prison Architect. And Subversion.
