Fract OSC is a first person puzzle game developed by Phosfiend Systems. A prototype (called Fract) was released in late 2010 and it went on to win Best Student Game at the Independent Games Festival in 2011. The puzzles are influenced by electronic music—many actions done in solving the environmental puzzles have a musical correspondence.

Fract OSC is the continuation of that prototype. The developer’s video shows off two parts, one similar to the prototype (an abstract puzzle environment) and one called “the studio,” a new area where players can create music. They describe the progression of the game on their website:

“As the player progresses through the game, they are exposed to different elements of sound and music through puzzles and the world. As such, they are introduced progressively to the tools that they will eventually use in the studio. The studio acts as the culmination of their actions in rebuilding the world, where they [will] eventually return and be able to make their own music.”

They also mention the game is “still kind of rough (and basic), but it should give you an idea of where we’re headed with [the game]." Fract OSC is targeted for a 2012 release on Windows and Mac OS.

Awesome, but it looks limited with what you can create with music, Little Big Planet 2 has a much better midi sequencing system. Hopefully they're add a lot more in the future, definitely gonna keep an eye on this.
