Yes, there is a My Little Pony mod that replaces the dragons with flying horses. God help us all.

DICE is an annual summit held for game developers where the creators of the stuff we love get together to talk about what they make.  DICE 2012 just commenced yesterday in Las Vegas and Bethesda head Todd Howard kicked off the keynote talking about Skyrim.  The keynote, entitled "Why We Play, Why We Create," can be watched here but the highlight of the 40 minute event is easily their "Game Jam."

Shortly after Skyrim was launched to the masses and the Skyrim team took their much-deserved vacations, the various development minds at Bethesda were given a week to work on whatever they wanted to and have that work implemented into the full game.  The result is the video you will see below.  Howard was quick to add that none of the content in the video was confirmed for release and whether or not any of it does get published is speculation at this point.  Given how strong the Skyrim modding community is though I expect at least most of what you see to somehow, whether unofficially or not, land on at least the PC version of the game.

    I want ALL of that.

the best thing is since the devs had that creative boost and not fan modders, it's much more likely those things will come to console. ALSO since it was a directionless "fun" type of week, it just MIGHT end up as a quick free update rather than a thematic dlc like Knights of the Nine.

Now THAT looks amazing, many things in there that would enhance the experience, and just be really awesome, I won't doubt mods would do this eventually, but please Bethesda! patch or DLC fuck it

Giant mudcrabs remind me of the Redoran during the Oblivion crisis. How the giant emperor crab they lived in came to life to help defend against the daedra.

So much goodness of immense proportions. Stuff like this will help sell copies of Skyrim for years to come. There will be content to fulfill everyone's desires and preferences. Even an underwater adventure pack for Brad, or a custom-camo shotgun Skybro mod for Carlos.

It almost seems like a no-brainer that this stuff wasn't added to the final game. I guess time and money is really what it comes down to, but it says some of these things only took a week. I wonder if there is some sort of disconnect between the core design/idea team at Bethesda and many of the other workers. It's almost as if they need to open up the forum of ideas and let more people contribute.

Now the real question is, can moders do this with the Creation Kit? If so... will not be long my friends...

my god....someone needs to show this to brad. The modders can make most of these things in due time, especially with the new creation tools on steam. Just a matter of time. I really hope bethesda just releases this in one big DLC pack

Holy crap, I hope Bethesda publishes these mods for free because they look fantastic.
I know modders can do similar things but there isn't really anything that compares to mods created by the people that designed the game and the engine it runs on.

That giant mudcrab would be perfect for an expansion. The additions to were creatures and vampires I hope will be done.

I see this being sent out as a teaser (free) DLC in anticipation of one of their huge expansions for the core game.

If I only had a decent rig. If I only had money.
