I know you feel my pain.

Budgeting: it's a fact of life as a gamer.  Averaging $60 a pop and not counting online subscriptions, controllers and accessories, it's a habit more painful to the wallet than smoking.  What we get out of it though is a far more wonderful experience though and if you had to compare the downsides of both habits I'd rather take a lighter wallet and less free time than lung cancer.  I dunno about you guys, but that's just me.

We've already talked A LOT about how terrible a year this year of gaming will be financially and Reddit and Steam user MalikNL decided to drive the point home visually.  You have to accept that some of the titles on that list (be they paid for or free) won't make it this year like Ryse, Fallout Online and (I laugh and cry while I type this) Black Mesa.  This list doesn't account for the vast number of titles that will premiere later this year so, given that most game releases occur six to eight months after their initial announcement, we could be in even more financial trouble.  Just from looking at this list I have over two dozen titles to pick up as the year progresses.  I can already hear whimpering coming from my pant's pocket.

The one thing of note I'd like to point out about this is just how small the Wii U launch line up looks to be.  Basing the launch of your system on less than a dozen titles is a big no-no in my opinion so hopefully Nintendo will have some surprises in store for us when E3 rolls around.

I counted 2 games I'm definitely getting from that list, and 2 or so maybes (in any case, not Day 1 buys). 2012's not going to be so financially destructive for me.

I'm not worried. I only see a few games I would buy. The others I can either rent or miss.

Man, the Wii U looks more and more like a disaster the more I learn about it. They better have a ton of new content for the Wii U at E3.

And just last night, during a conversation about the next consoles a Mr. Brad Simons said "We don't need a new generation, we just need more games." I nearly coughed up my drink.

To those dimwits who keep on flapping their faecal coated lips that PC gaming is dead; what you gonna say now, huh?

Regarding that list...I am primarily a PC gamer but there are some titles I will have to get for my 360. My wallet will sue me.

I plan on fixing this problem by only buying games which are good. Which ones are good? Well that's where the paradox comes in and everyone dies.

Hm, isn't Re6 also due out this year? Didn't see it on the list.

That's not really a crowded list considering I have no interest in 90% of those games and 5% of them have like no chance of coming out this year (The Last of Us, for instance).

    - Silent Hill Downpour
    - Mass Effect 3
    - Resident Evil 6

That's really all that matters to me at the moment.

Guild Wars 2, Resident Evil 6, Twisted Metal. The rest I can wait for.

I tell myself that I have the will power to wait for these games to come down in price, but once I see all of my friends playing them the night they come out I die a little inside. I may have to launch some type of Ponzi scheme to afford all of the games that I want that are coming out this year. :(

Mass Effect 3, Silent Hill Downpour (possibly the HD Collection too)...probably the Tomb Raider reboot...

Apart from that, there's really nothing else I'm really jonesing for. The rest is either uninteresting or I'll wait for the reviews.

Should be a good 2012 for my wallet then. Much better than Aug-Nov '11 was anyway!
