The end of the year is approaching and we want to know what your personal game of the year is. Excitingly though, we now have a way for you to call us and leave us a message, either by phone or through Skype. But before you pick up the phone, some details.

We want you to think hard about which game released this year was the one (please just one!) you really loved and tell us why. Not just “I liked this game because it is really good” but why it tickles your fancy. Is it something about the design you love? A particular moment in the game? A character? A game system? Feel free to share anecdotes, stories, moments, personal triumphs—go into as much detail as you want (there is no real time limit) but try not to ramble.

Also, please include your username, at the very least, and your real name and where you are from, at the most. Spell it out if need be, so you can be credited.

Your thoughts will be edited together and shared in audio form early next year.

There is no cut off date as of yet, but the sooner you can get it in the better (though remember there are still a few games coming out in December). I’ll update closer to the end of the year with a cut off time.

Now that we have that, here is the contact info:

Phone Number: (512) 782-4561

Skype: call4player

Remember: All normal calling charges apply here. Many phones have nationwide calling these days but if you are unsure of this (or are outside of the US) then call through Skype. Also, by calling, you are giving us permission to use what you say so please don’t share anything you wouldn’t want known! Thanks.

PS: If you have any problems recording your message please let me know (my email is below and on the sidebar) so I can try to work it out.

Wow, this is pretty cool! I just might call in, but I'll have to put some thought into it.

Anyone have a list of games that came out this year? I can't remember much of anything that came out this summer or before.

What would be the best time to call? Or do we just leave a message?

24/7, call anytime, you'll be recording a voicemail. You don't have to record anything on your end, it is all taken care of.

I've edited the original slightly to reflect this.

Very cool. I may consider doing this, if I can just finish up my decision for GOTY.

I have a few games in mind, but I still have a few games I want to buy and play before making a decision.
