One of the best licensed (yes, LICENSED) titles of this generation has been The Darkness, Starbreeze Studios' adaptation of the Top Cow comic line about a mob hitman's quest for vengeance with the aid of evil powers endowed by the titular demon. Jackie Estacado is set to return to living rooms this February and Digital Extremes is looking to make sure that, this time, Jackie isn't taking on waves of baddies alone.
Announced today, The Darkness II will feature a 4-player cooperative mode called Vendettas. Taking place parallel to the main story, Vendettas has you playing as one of four characters in new missions and environments using weapons that have been infused with the power of The Darkness. Each character has a unique weapon that consumes the souls of enemies that face them and looks just as brutal and violent as the singleplayer.
I personally can't wait to see Jackie Estacado return as the previous game was simply outstanding in my book. I got to see The Darkness II at E3 this year and, despite the more action-focused nature of what I saw, I really enjoyed the presentation. I hope you guys agree.

God the narrator was annoying as hell, still, this looks like it could be ok.

That screenshot is.. eerily familiar. I'm getting flashbacks from Dead Air in Left 4 Dead.

First one sucked a nut, expecting this one to as well.

First one was really lackluster, not expecting much from the second. It'll be nice if something about it turns out good, though.

Getcha game face on, Jackie!

Assuming this is a separate campaign, the co-op campaign looks good. If somehow this turns into five player co-op which seems off because... it just does, and this turns out to be the campaign campaign then this might turn out to be very interesting to say the least.

Man I loved the narrator, had lots of personality.
