It's that time again folks. I just wanted to say thanks for sticking with us this week while I waged a one-sided news war using the deadliest weapon known to man: memes. For your tolerance I've decided to NOT include my previously alluded-to memestravaganza and will stick with the concrete stuff.

What You Should Know About
- A report states that, when the PS Vita is released in North America, the price of a downloaded title will be less than that of the retail version. Current Japanese prices reflect an average of around 20% savings digitally in comparison to retail.
- The PS Vita is also reported to allow only one profile per system. This might make things a bit difficult for certain households and many gamers who like to share.
- Finally, the proprietary memory cards the PS Vita will use are exorbitantly expensive. Prices range from $30 for 4gb to $120 for 32gb.
- SquareEnix seems determined to drive players away from Final Fantasy XIV. Starting January 6th the publisher will begin charging players a monthly fee to play the game and will INCREASE them when version 2.0 is released later next year.
- From now through December 16th Activision will donate the proceeds from purchases of Modern Warfare 3 avatar items on the Xbox 360. If you've been wanting to refresh your digital persona and need to boost your karma for the holiday season this kills two birds with one stone.
- Mojang, the developer behind Minecraft, has reached out to Lego in an attempt to create the most logical video game merchandising deal in history: Minecraft Legos.
- Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto III will arrive on Android and iOS-based phones next week at a price of just $5.
- Assassin's Creed Revelations will receiving its first major DLC on January 24th which will include 6 new multiplayer maps. The game will also receive a DLC multiplayer character bundle next week.
- GSC Game World, the studio behind the cult hit STALKER series, is closing down. Development of STALKER 2 is frozen and indefinitely suspended.
- Bastion will be receiving DLC next week. The PC version will be free while the 360 version will cost you $1.
- Namco Bandai has won a court case in France over the Asia distribution rights of The Witcher 2. CD Projekt will be forced to draw up a new contract with Namco and will be subject to heavy fines if they do not do so within fifteen days of the ruling.
- The Last Story, the second game on the list of Operation Rainfall, will be released in Europe in the later part of February.
- Despite common sense, the International Committee of the Red Cross wants video games to conform to the laws of war. I think I speak for every gamer out there when I say that there's a fat chance of that happening.
- Mega Man X will be released on iOS this month in Japan but it is not a port of either the SNES version or the Maverick Hunter X remake.
- A Dead Rising 3 announcement may be made soon. Sources suggest a California setting with a mechanic protagonist named Rick with a theme built specifically around illegal immigration.
- For the five of you still playing Duke Nukem Forever: Gearbox will be releasing new singleplayer DLC for the game next week. The DLC takes place in Area 51 and comes with four new multiplayer maps at the price of $10.

Sad to see GSC Game World go. They were working on a Crysis mod for their S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. They definitely cared about their work. Shame.
