Our reduced line-up this week manages to stay relatively focused on gaming discussions with only a few minor distractions. Brad and Nick discuss their opinions of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and how it compares to previous Zelda titles while Jack fills everyone in on the recently released Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, particularly Peace Walker. The back half of the show is filled with plenty of community interaction and despite our best efforts, Hitman becomes a major topic of discussion.

Awesome show. I don't think I can think of any thing for the whole censorship thing... Well, except that Australia banned Silent Hill Homecoming. But that's about it.

I think video games have definitely let a little bit more loose in terms of censorship as of late. Just to think there was outcry over the Hot coffee mod that you had to get from the internet of all places, but now you can attack people with dildos butt (censored) naked in SR3.

I recently saw the E3 '11 demo playthrough and I noticed that the shadow stealth is more dominant than being incognito. it also seems that gaining disguises looks scarce and just a means to get around. I'm gonna play through Blood Money just to make sure I know the standards the new Hitman must succeed.

How can nick be soo bad at hitman that he stops at one of the best and probably the easiest level in bloodmoney.(the lil gated community level they were talking about) I mean you do have the option of saving wherever/whenever u want. I just think nick wants to feel "OP" when playing a game...when he said that thing about being like batman/assassin creed, i face palmed. I mean even if u get into a tough situation, u can still kill everyone in the game/run and hide without reloading a save. Hell i saw david where u just ran around and killed everyone in the level with no problem at all...

First time listening to you guys, and I totally get what nick's getting at with hitman.
Yes it's awesome you can get unique kills in hitman, but if you fuck up anywhere down the line, you feel like a SHITman than a highly skilled professional. I do get that you feel large and in charge in Assassins Creed as an assassin :)

The problem with Hitman is, being a real-life professional hitman is hard work. Infiltrating a location, reaching your target, taking them out, erasing any trace that you were ever there, and exfiltrating without raising an alarm... that's all very delicate and difficult stuff. The Hitman games to date have done a very good job of forcing the player to do all of these things, at the cost of creating a steep, STEEP barrier to entry. I bought Blood Money years ago when my brother had a 360 and couldn't get into it because of that, although I can see why it is so highly praised for it. It's a formula that, when it works, works fantastically. When it doesn't work, it feels like a shit sundae.
That said, I would much, much, MUCH prefer the way it is now over something like Assassin's Creed, where you press R1+hold the stick forward, and 47 does everything in a fluid animation without any further input from the player. I've only played maybe 2 hours of Brotherhood, and I couldn't stand it because I didn't feel like I was playing a game, I was watching a movie that would only continue playing if I held down a button and an analog stick.

Thank you for making me chatter for the week. The reason why I wanted you to talk about video game censorship is the upcoming change to Australian legislation. In a couple of months federal government is going to make R18+ classification for video games, meaning that adults over the age of 18 can purchase games with extreme content. I'm excited that the government is now giving responsiblity to the adult as to what games he/she can purchase unedited. I look forward to hearing funny stories of censorship around the world.
P.S. The gameplay mechanics of Assassin's Creed being implemented into Hitman is stupid. Being able to see through walls is science fiction and has no place in an almost 'simulation' game. Mabye there should be an 'easy' mode and a 'hardcore' mode in which your given the choice to use the special vision.

Honestly I'm the same as Jack... I haven't owned a Nintendo console except for the Wii, which I don't even use. I only had the original Game Boy and its successors. It's probably why I don't care about Mario, Legend of Zelda, and a lot of other Nintendo franchises. I've been meaning to play one of the older Zelda games, but I barely have the time to play what's currently out. Also I'm a cheap ass...
I really enjoyed Blood Money, and am with the group who's worried about Hitman detracting from its original approach. I'll stay hopeful, though... I don't think I play a lot of trial and error games overall, so I'm not really one to say much!
I'm in the middle of building a PC (having trouble finding HDD deals, given the floods), and it's my first time taking true advantage of Steam sales... Not as much as others, but I still feel overwhelmed!
