Safety Instructions is a typing game by Pippin Barr. It isn’t entirely dissimilar to The Typing of the Dead. Though in Safety Instructions, it is using touch typing skills to survive a lightheartedly toned plane crash over the ocean instead of a campy monster movie. It juxtaposes well colored pixel art and relaxing elevator music against amusing deaths when the instructions are not typed fast enough. All of my Mavis Beacon experience made the “Good” difficulty a breeze, but after completion, more screens unlock as well as a “Nightmare” difficulty. This kind of unlocking isn’t ideal but the additional screens feature some of the more clever outcomes. It is odd that typing is sort of a genre of games, but it is a pretty good example of what I’ve recently talked about: how games are used to contextualize some kind of education in a different and more interesting way.

I feel bad for myself because it took me at least 5 trys to do the first one

And this reminds me why I gave up on piano; my hand coordination is terrible and it took me around 5 go's for every sentence on '(B)ad', at least I got a good laugh from the progressively silly deaths, the failing to open the door is my favorite.

I'm loving some of the deaths on this game and thanks to Typing of the Dead my typing skills were decent enough to play this game.
