I'll come right out and admit it: while I loved the Devil May Cry series initially I kinda had a falling out with it after the second game. After having played the original Ninja Gaiden title I somehow was never able to come back and grasp at Devil May Cry like I did before. It also didn't help that the third game was so bloody hard that I couldn't get past the first boss. Despite the truth of the matter being that the original version of DMC 3's normal mode was the Japanese hard mode I wasn't about to let myself drop down to easy just to progress. In other words, my pride got in the way and I've never looked back. As such I never even touched the forth game.
This reboot of the series has my attention though thanks to the fact that Ninja Theory is doing it. Nick has been ecstatic about Devil May Cry and he's probably going to pop a blood vessel as soon as he sees this. Enjoy the trailer.

Neat trailer but as Brad has stated it does seem slower then the Devil May Cry I remember (Which isn't a whole lot since my experience of the series stops with a few hours of DMC4) but that may be because I have been spoiled by Bayonetta. I don't really know, none the less it doesn't look bad by any means and I'm curious to see what Ninja Theory will do afterwards with the new experience under their belt.

It seems like they're having trouble coming up with a character design because they keep changing it. Here's an idea, go with what we had before and don't change anything. Also I laugh because this looks like Bayonetta except instead of playing as a hot woman you're playing as Edward Cullen

When i first saw the original trailer for 'dmc' i thought that the story would go something like Dante is trapped within an alternate world where he evidently looked (at the time) like a crack head. He would break out of this and the second act of the game would be much truer to the original devil may cry series...sadly i don't think this is the case.
The flashes of 'white haired' dante - are still very meh. Pause at 1.20 to see a close up shot.
Nick can be excited for all of us - i'm just not on board.

The world design doesn't seem bad, but god damn the combat looks slow.

It looks epic as a game.... but I'm not sure how I feel about it being a Devil May Cry game.
Looks like I'll have to play it to decide.

Gotta say. That scythe in the trailer looks BADASS!

The combat may be slower (running at 30 fps rather than 60 will do that) but honestly I don't mind that. As long as the gameplay is responsive and feels good what is there really to complain about? I'm liking the world traversal I see in this trailer, even if it is to set points. I actually like the character design and honestly what I've seen of the environments looks like its shaping up to be the best setting a Devil May Cry game has ever had.
Plus Ninja Theory may be able to do something that Capcom was never able to. If Ninja Theory can make the in game combat feel like what happens in the cut scenes (its safe to assume there are going to be crazy cut scene moments right?) then I think they'll have a winner on their hands. Maybe not one that excels past the legacy of DMC1 and 3 but a winner none the less.

I was actually playing DMC 3 earlier today, so I feel I'm qualified to pass judgement. The combat looks pretty damn good so far, and is a pretty decent speed (even if a tiny bit slower than in 3.)
I hope that the music isn't all in this style, because I expect some heavy fuckin' metal along with my Devil May Cry. The aerial animations look wierd and not as smooth as in 3, but the ground animation does look good. Also, I've noticed Devil Trigger has only been shown in air, and if it's exclusively an aerial thing, that could mean the whole mechanic has changed.

The reason why I like Nero in DMC4 was because grabbing a dude out of thin air having just uppercutted him felt really visceral and tactile. Playing as old school Dante is great but it doesn't have that sense of raw power. Which is why I'm totally stoked for this DmC. Slower combat doesn't mean bad combat and from what I can see from the trailers, it seems more rough; like this Dante isn't quite as into finesse as the original one. Which is cool. DMC 3 is one of my favorite games ever, so the fact that I'm really excited about this one must make me some sort of mutant freak of nature. I like both.

Ninja Theory, as much as I like them after playing Enslaved, doesn't seem to be too good at the fast paced combat that the DMC series is known for. However, given their past games and how well they develop their characters, I'm sure it'll be a good game.
I'm seeing what looks like a lot of reused animations. The Scythe seems like it's acting like Nevan from 3 and the whip looking thing acts like the Devil Bringer. Am I going to give it a shot? Yes. From what I've seen, I've liked, but I'm not going to be hyping myself up for this game and I may not even get it at launch. Not because of Ninja Theory, but because of Capcom. Why buy a new game from them when they're just gonna release an updated version in a few months?

still worried about the speed of the combat, but looks good so far!

So they got rid of the crackhead look? good.
Looks better overall than it has for months. Still wish it were an original IP. Still won't buy it until it costs less than 20 bucks

ok so i played dmc1 2 3 and 4 i been a big fan of the series myself, Im really hoping that the combat system in 3 and 4 are still with dmc in general. The combos you could pull in the game were so stylish, demonic, and sexy. Its basically what drug alot of people into the game, not to mention the stories. I cant wait for this dmc, Alot of people have said that dmc3 was hard but i guess thats if your not use to dmc. i kinda thought it was hard as soon as i fought vergil for the first time, but i ended up getting better. Dmc4 wasnt like dmc3 imo but it still proved worthy! I also hate dantes new look...but its not about looks its about gameplay So i cant wait to get my hands on it :)

The gameplay still looks too slow for a Devil May Cry game. =/
Please just let me have a demo so I can decide whether or not to buy this.

Once again, Nostalgia controlled fanboys are going to ruin what could potentially be a very good game.
I have a feeling that people are going to really love this new Dante. Ninja Theory really needs to just stop giving a crap about the people who are complaining about the protagonist looks. It's pathetic.

Mmm, I've been a bit skeptical about this game, with the changes to the character design I was starting to change my tune, but after having seen this gameplay, I'm not looking forward to this at all. Its way too slow and far too floaty.

This game is obviously going to suck because of the hair.

Im still waiting for a full combat sequence trailer, not just short clips.

I can't wait for this. I know that there's so much criticism going on with this game, but I'm still optimistic.
