Someone in chat said this podcast was really quiet. Since lately I've been struggling to hear stuff on the podcast with my MP3 player at max volume when I'm anywhere that isn't completely silent, I decided to load the show up in MP3Gain: 81.9 db average volume. I'm not an audio expert, but it probably wouldn't hurt the audio quality at all to bump it to the lower 90's. MP3Gain reports audio clipping past 87 db, but I think all that would affect is the loudest parts of the podcast (most likely somebody yelling) being quieter and maybe lower quality in a not-humanly-noticeable way. Somebody feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

The beginning == what happens when Nick is gone...
"Combat contact" is big thing for me, and I completely agree about not loving forced specialization. All these great game topics! But...I'm now sure I'm never going to pick up Dead Island. -- I pre-ordered the first two Gears games, but not this one. Hearing Carlos's story makes me want to play it, though. I played a LOT of 2's Horde mode.
The bosses in DX3 sucked in both gameplay and story. I read the book so I knew who they were, but beyond an email in DX3, there seems to be little background info. I know augs are less controlling than nanotech--killphrases!--but it's just so disappointing. I didn't experience this in the game, but apparently some bosses you could even escape and they'd continue to hunt you at later parts in the game. So good!

I'd agree with pretty much everything Brad said about Xenoblade. I'm around about the same point as him, and the death of 'that character' also came as a surprise to me too. What kind of disappointed me was that after seeing the town getting attacked and destroyed in some points, people being eaten, and generally overrun by the Mechon, if you go back to that Town everything seems completely normal with no indication of the attack ever happening. I think if your going to go for the shock of an attack on the city, you've got to go all the way and keep that city wrecked, not just turn it back to normal again.
Also, in terms of control, I'm using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, and I've not had any problems at all. Whilst the camera controls aren't great using the remote, you don't have to do the claw to change the selected skills like you do with the classic controller. I'd suggest trying that if you keep having trouble, it's not perfect but you get the job done.
And yeah, I was confused it didn't have a Dragon Age / Final Fantasy 12 tactics menu, it's not been a problem yet though.

This was a hilarious episode guys. I do love a good tangent about the nature of the universe.

Wasn't feeling the bit about Dead Island. Maybe my friends and I must have horrible taste, because that game was a blast. Then again, I only played a little multiplayer, and my friend did the whole thing solo. Single player is the best way to play this game honestly. Other than their criticism on the online play, all Nolan really complained about were very nit picky elements (beach-ball physics, spark plugs) that really aren't important. His complaint about the firearms just seems...pointless. I mean, there's been plenty of info put out there before it's release that this was a melee-heavy game, with little emphasis on guns. I agree with pointing out that the movement is awkward, but its not a burden to get used to. Gears of War and RE don't have the smoothest controls, but you eventually adjust. I just feel concerned because it feels like alot of ppl that listen to 4pp are just gonna write the game off as garbage simply because it wasn't warmly received by their favorite reviewers. Then again, Brad lauded how about how great Nier is and most people still haven't even gameflied it yet.
