PSP games coming to PS3 in HD

I would buy a PS3 version Phantasy Star Portable 2 if I could move my save back and forth between versions. That goes double if I could just put my memory stick in the slot and save/load my game from that.

MH3rd HD can be played "online" via Adhoc Party, but that could change as time passes. VC2 and 3 in HD are both good choices to be in the library for the PS3 (though we all want VC4 on the PS3, not on PSP).

Sounds pretty promising. I just hope they actually follow through with better controls for the MH game. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they didn't add in the second analog stick functionality to it.

This is great news. Finally I can try Monster Hunter.

You know - this idea makes sense. The whole point of these handhelds are to be able to play games anywhere, on the go...why do the majority of them have to be exclusive games to that platform? I understand their might be cost reasons and all, but this is a great idea (I think) that makes sense in the direction that gaming is headed. The purpose of handhelds is to make gaming portable, so why not be able to continue that game in your regular gaming set up at home - from where you left off. And why should the games we play on portables being completely separate from their console brothers?

Man I hope they bring these over to North America. I don't have a PSP so I haven't been able to play the remakes of FFT or Tactics Ogre. Those are the 2 greatest Japanese Strategy rpgs and 2 of the greatest games, period, so to finally be able to play the remakes would be... indescribable.

Valkyria Chronicles is high on that list.

Playing Monster Hunter on a television with HD graphics without the need to cripple your hand is a godsend. Cannot wait.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Brad, but I believe you could play MH3rd online by using adhoc party through the ps3. I did this with mgs peacewalker. Granted, it wasn't practical because you had to have a wired connection on the ps3 to have that act as a wireless server for the psp and then you had to be close to the ps3 at all times. Nonetheless, you were pretty much able to play online.

It's good for the people who don't have PSPs, I guess, but for the people who've owned and played most of these big handheld titles, I'm not sure if merely fixing the visuals and controls will be enough to remedy the problems many of them have.

Unless they totally redesign Valkyria 2 and 3 from the ground up for the PS3, they're still going to feel like PSP games. The battlefields are still going to be small separate areas and the graphics still won't be the awesome watercolor look that the original had.

For someone like myself who hasn't played these games yet due to not being comfortable with the psp controls I can say I would vary much like Ps3 versions of this games, although before I heard this news I was just planning on waiting for the NGP versions which I may still have to if these Ps3 remakes don't come to the UK.

The thing that would make me happiest is if the games in the PSP section of PSN were playable on your PS3. There are tons of games on there that I would love to play but I just can't see buying a PSP at this point for them. Sadly I know they are games that are not going to get this treatment so I'm kinda ambivalent to the whole thing. Guess we'll see how it goes as they start releasing them.

I'm really looking forward to MH 3rd HD. I missed out on the PSP versions, but didn't buy them because I tried the demo, and I felt uncomfortable with the controls.
