The week has finally arrived and the (surprisingly) crowded summer release window kicked off with a bang with the release of L.A. Noire. With many of us having been rather nervous about the potential problems that the game might have, we spend some time discussing our initial impressions of the game. Some might say we spent too much time discussing it so we cover a few other recent titles like Outland, Metro 2033 (SPOILER WARNING - 54 min mark) and Brink. In other news... WTF!? Monolith is making a multiplayer Batman download game? Modern Warfare 3 was announced? Steam daily deals!? With E3 less than a month away, the crazy gaming news seems to be blowing up lately. Don't pretend you are not excited! Sit your ass down and listen to this week's podcast! You won't regret it!

In the case, "the secretary studio murder," I really couldn't tell who the perp was. When it comes down to charging one of two suspects with murder, I really couldn't tell who was guilty because they both started telling convincing stories.

I do agree with how brad feels about this: this is essentially just a movie with limited interaction. The action sequences in this game needed to be further fleshed out because the typical chase, shoot, and brawl sequences are very tedious and chore like after a while. Thats my only complaint with it. They've done everything else wonderfully to keep my attention.

Return to Castle Wolfenstien I think was one of the first to introduce class based roles that fulfill certain objectives (i.e. engineer blows up walls, medic heals people) and Brink was like a step up from that, but doesn't do better than Enemy Territory. Sadly I prefer this kind of game over Class based deathmatch (i.e. Team Fortress). I hope a good one will be made sometime.

"The shushing is the best part of the show..."
Great discussion on LA Noire. I'm waiting on the game (as I usually do), but I'm the kind of person who checks corners twice or even thrice in games and no doubt it'll take me forever to finish. And yet I am (or was) also a HUGE fan of Bully, so I'm guessing I might be echoing Brad's sentiments. But given how invested I get into games, I probably will love it...when I get it and play it.
I really want to check out Daggerfall, but I can only dedicate myself to so many (read: one) game(s) at a time.
I kinda want to know Brad's impressions on HBO GoT... I bet I missed them while he was broadcasting, since I can't watch them all the time. I will say that I dislike their lack of tastefulness/subtlety with Renly and Loras (even though I'm all for that usually haha), and Cersei's and Renly's portrayals in general. Also I *hate* Ros. I seem to dislike everything not taken from the books, in particular the Cersei/Robert scene from the most recent episode. BUT I want it to keep going, because I want Brienne.
Must go get LA Noire OST...

Awesome show, guys. I haven't played LA Noire yet, but hopefully I can pick up a copy soon. Very excited to play it.
Also, I know you already made the comparison to Phoenix Wright, but when you compared the interrogations to a mini-game(Noticing peoples habits when they lie, like fidgeting with something in their hand) that reminded me of the perceive system in Apollo Justice(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sxmG_OWTH8&feature=player_detailpage#t=920s)
Dunno, just found that interesting.
