Pass or Play: Deal Week

This week there's a buttload of stuff on sale. There are some one day sales going on today with Shadow Complex, Monday Night Combat, Limbo, Castle Crashers, and Trials HD. It's only for Friday so if you have any interest in them they're Half Off Today Only.

As for the rest of the deals going on this week, there's waaaay too many.

For sure I'm buying Duke Nukem 3D. It's only 5 bucks. It's been a game I've been wanting to try out for a while. I've heard it's the only Duke Nukem worth playing, including the new one.

Here's what else is on my radar....

Perfect Dark - 5 bucks
Should I play this one? It's definitely not worth the usual ten dollars. It's dated. The AI is borked. I tried the demo and didn't like the controls. But I've never actually played through the N64 version. So for some Cheevos why not.

Trials HD: Big Thrills - 280
I'm pretty sure to pick this up. I'm not crazy about this game but for the price, it's worth the chance that I'll play it eventually.

Final Fight: Double Impact - 5 bucks
Can someone remind me what's in this package? It's a remake of Final Fight?

Crackdown 2 Deluge - 280
Anyone play this? I was severely let down by Crackdown 2, but for a couple bucks why not have something else to play. Of course I don't own the game....

Magic: The Gathering - 5 bucks
Let's face it. I'm never buying this unless it's on Sale. I hated getting the crap kicked out of my in Middle School in Magic. But do I care enough to exact my revenge on some stupid AI?

Alan Wake: The Writer - 280
Another game I wasn't so big on, but for the price why not. Nick has said there's some pretty cool things going on with The Writer. Then again our opinion of this game completely differ.

That's basically what I'm looking at this week. There's also stuff I'm looking at that I probably won't buy unless I have money coming out of my ears. Bionic Commando is cheap. Mega Man 10 is too. MvC2 and SF2TR are both half.

Also I remember Snoopy Flying Ace getting good reviews, Can I get a confirmation?

For those you who haven't played Braid and Splosion Man, are on sale as well.

Jeez that's a lot of stuff.

    I'll definitely get Shadow Complex.

I got through maybe more than half of Crackdown 2 and I think the game is terrible. Only good thing about it is collecting the agility orb. I'll beat the game eventually for the sake of beating it.

While I'm incredibly biased I'd definitely say get Monday Night Combat.

Not your standard type of shooter with some great classes and abilities, solid offline/coop mode as well. Online is really, really fun. Don't listen to what Carlos says about the game either. He mad.

As for Perfect Dark, take it from someone who is a diehard fan of the original; It's not worth it. If you missed it the first time around there's really no reason to play it now. Consider it $5 for cheevos essentially.

I agree, I played more PD multiplayer with friends than any of my other n64 games. I still have great respect for it but it really is a 'you had to be there' appreciation. Your not missing out by passing on this one.

Well I wasn't going to post the whole CAG thing but yeah I use CAG for most of my XBLA deals, people always postings and keepings it organized.
For this I'll just do a small evaluation of games Davids chosen though.

Duke 3D- Buy it, coop, lets do it.

Perfect Dark- Got it for free, man the controls are poopy, I don't know, played barely any of it

Trials DLC- Its actually 200, I just said $2.50, 40 more levels for a game I despise, sure

Final Fight Double Impact- 2 games, Final Fight and Magic Sword, Coop, Cheevos, Street Fighter Final Fight Animated Series Episode as well, buy it

    Crackdown 2 DLC- Fuck it

Magic TG- No nothing of it, but bought it, so ya

Alan Wake DLC- Its been 200 before back during Christmas, so might wait if your not going to play it soon

Bionic Commando Rearmed- Loved the game, bought it back when it came out

Mega Man 10- Bought it, man the game is cheap even on easy

2 Fighting games, I'm tempted to pick them up but do they even have story modes? Whats the point of buying them to just get whooped online by people who've been playing it forever

Snoopys Flying Ace goes on sale every 2 months it feels like. I'd just wait it out.

These are some great deals on things I don't think are worth the time. Except Perfect Dark. Get Perfect Dark.
