I'm a bit of a Yakuza fan. So when I heard the Yakuza team was developing a new IP, I got excited. Then I heard it was a third person shooter and that it was targeting a Western audience, and I got sad. Then I watched the first trailer, and I was mortified. Well, we have a new trailer now. And it doesn't look nearly as awful.

Ok, still not great. But that dude with his face ripped off was pretty fucking awesome. The real concern here is that since viewing the original trailer, I got a chance to play Yakuza: Of the End. And HOLY FUCKING SHIT, these developers should not be making games with guns in them. After playing that game, I'm now even more worried for this project. At least face-rip-dude will always be cool.

I have to say that the music is infectious. I have been watching this trailer a lot mainly so I can listen to the music. It is a much better trailer then that piece of shit they released earlier, but I'm still skeptical about this game. I need a demo to decide.

    Long live Face-Rip-Dude.

Face-rip dude was clearly the star of this trailer.

Maybe it is a futuristic version of Yakuza and Kazuma will be at his Orphanage raising little robot children as a robot himself...

When I watched Brad play the demo of Yakuza of the End, I was doing research and found out that in the website Binary Domain had a similar feature to YOTE which was squad based tactics(I think YOTE was a warm up for Binary Domain). They are mainly focusing on innovating the AI which they say it will be different when it comes to humans and robots. Other than that I do feel better seeing some gameplay footage and see that they what sorta looks like improvment; or I might be crazy.

Generic Robot story is generic. I mean come on, can't we come up with something a little better than this, it's been beaten to a pulp.

I'm really diggin' the environments, something about futuristic robot metropolis always gets me. Gameplay looks pretty good IMO too, nothing special but it will probably have some cool mechanics. Like the sliding thing (Bulletstorm style?) and the water ski-type-deal. Also, fighting evil robots is something everyone can get behind, there's no moral implications there, its just fun.

The main reason think this trailer makes the game look pretty good is because the only dialog in the the whole thing is in the beginning, and that wasn't terrible sounding.

Still, the first trailer really left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm willing to give the game a chance in the game play department. From the limited amount that I've seen of "Of the End" it looks like they ripped the shooter aspects right of their previous Yakuzas, where the shooting was practically thrown in there probably because they wanted some of their enemies to use guns.

The shooting from the small snippets of game play remind me of Vanquish. Vanquish had the boost and the variety of different weapons though. From what I can guess, I'd say this game can be somewhat decent at best if they get the shooting down.

I feel sorry if this was a developer that wanted to make a shooter, but couldn't unless it was marketed toward westerners. Ya know like a westerner wanting to make a JRPG would have to make it a western RPG simply because that's not on the market in your area.

Not sure if this is the case, just sayin.

The music in the trailer was good, at least. As for the game, I'll reserve judgment until I get my hands on a demo of some sort.

Forgettable trailer IMO. Its a squad based third person shooter that looks like it will have a heavy emphasis on using cover, great something to put me to sleep at night. The game looks pretty though, its not all brown and shit so that is nice.

To be perfectly honest I was not interested in this game at first. This trailer has certainly made me more interested in it. *Sigh* big explosions and dramatic music, why do you always do this to me?

Honestly, this trailer looks so much better than the first one you posted up before. But...I'm terrified as to how the shooting will be like. And as you said about how you felt about the shooting in Yakuza: Of the End, I'm even more afraid.

Gameplay-wise, it most likely won't be anything to write home about. But I love the storytelling in the Yakuza games so there is still a small sign of optimism for me. I greatly hope that they will bring out some of it in this game.

My biggest fear with Binary Domain is it'll be a stripped down version of Vanquish, a basic shooter with no unique or interesting gameplay mechanics. The character and enemy designs aren't really interesting to look at either, it'll be very surprising if this game doesn't bomb or if there is a really great gameplay mechanic that hasn't been shown yet.

As silly as the first trailer looked, this looked different... Still reminds me way too much of Vanquish though.

This trailer left me with a better impression definitely then the first trailer that was shown of Binary Domain. The 3rd Person shooting also didn't seem to play bad from what I saw in the trailer, but we'll have to see how this game turns out.

First tactical dismemberment, now tactical skin removal? We can only hope! In all seriousness though, this trailer makes up some ground lost by the first craptacutrailer. Combat looks somewhat bland and boring, but who knows what it will be like at a point this early.

Oh lord, there's vehicle sequences too? They just need to confirm a stealth level and it'll be a museum of how not to spend your development time when making an action game outside your expertise.

A hell of a lot better than the first trailer. With all these robots I kinda get an I, Robot/Terminator vibe from it. I'm kinda worried about how the shooting feels since the Yakuza team isn't very good with shooting mechanics. But hey, one thing they're good at is telling a story. So until then I'll just wait till they release a demo to see if they got better with their shooting mechanics.

When I saw the initial trailer for this game, I thought to myself "There is no way I will ever play this game." Vanquish was a fun game but the attempt to make it appeal to westerners made the dialog and story feel awkward and really broke all immersion for me. The initial trailer looked like it was doing that, only 20 times worse (not to mention the story concept and the way they presented it looked very bland). After seeing this trailer, though, I feel I may at least rent this game. My worry about the awkwardness is severely weakened, and I am actually interested in the gameplay and story now (and I love the trailers song). Thanks for posting this trailer!

If they pull off the controls (fingers crossed) the game may be worth a shot. Odds on one of your teammates being a robot and possibly betray you? Anyone?

i did not like the first trailer but this one hasn't changed my mind i still think this looks like an awful generic robot shooting game with no redeeming qualities
