Say what you will about Epic Games over used development tech, Unreal Engine, there isn't any denying the engines graphical prowess. Let's be honest, the engine is used a lot for a reason. At GDC 2011, Epic unveiled a rather beautiful looking tech demo for the next generation of their next generation engine. Sit back and enjoy the future of gaming because I'm sure this engine will be just as prevalent as it's predecessor.
[Rumor] Gametrailers.com seems to reporting this as more than just a tech demo but in fact an early look at Epic's next new IP. Whether this is simply a poor choice in wording or in fact holds some weight is yet to be determined.
UPDATE: Gametrailers has since changed the wording from 'Epic's newest game' to 'Epic's newest tech' - The chance of this being a new IP appears to be unlikely.

I saw the leak of the new Unreal Engine 4 or whatever already, but as nice as it looks, there's just something about it that makes me feel like a lot of people will just turn to this engine as the next big piece of middleware. Not to say I don't like forward progression with graphics, but I'm going to be annoyed if this engine sets the new standard for game quality.

It's gonna be sad to see another hundred games made with this clearly resource heavy engine.

I saw this earlier today and was utterly amazed. The graphics are absolutely astounding. However, im more interested in seeing what the actually power behind this engine can do. Even more enemies on screen? Better water effects? What will we see from this engine? regardless, im excited for more details

I find it funny that they're releasing that new Unreal Engine 3 build tomorrow, after only revealing it today.
Well we can all say goodbye to iOS compatibility I guess.

Yes, and do you know what it was run on? A PC.
A PC with -three- GTX 580's. Roughly 1.5k in video cards right there.

I hope this is a new IP. Looks a hell of a lot more exciting than Gears.
