    To clear something up that came up about the 2:30 mark, if you buy the Minecraft beta you do NOT need to pay extra or buy it again or anything later, you will get the full game on release. The whole rumour just comes from Notch wording things a bit poorly when he first announced the change, and not doing a good enough job of clarifying it later. If you bought it in Alpha you get everything forever, if you buy it in Beta you get everything until release, the release itself, and patches after release, but there may be optional content (think DLC and expansions) later that you have to pay for, same as someone who buys it after release.

    Basically, if you're interested in getting the game, there's no reason to wait until release. You'll get the same or more stuff than someone who waits, you'll get it cheaper, and you'll get it earlier.
