Since playing Crysis 2 at PAX 2010, I had an inkling that the game would be a respectable entry in the FPS space. I figured that it's multiplayer would be sound and most memorable for it's complex, beautiful environments and intense physicality. But from the beginning, it has been about the single player offering. The new trailer doesn't show much in the way of differentiating this game from other FPS offerings but it certainly gets points for style. If the games story campaign can live up to the level of epic this trailer suggests, Crysis 2 will be well worth the money.
Now I just hope they can fix any of the multiplayer bugs that plagued the Xbox Live demo before it hits shelves in late March.

For some reason I kind of got a Half Life two feel by watching this trailer. Not sure exactly why.

That was...epic
I'm glad that single player means something to these guys.
That said, I'm looking forward to the multiplayer as well.
Can't wait for this game.

There's a pretty cool gameplay vid IGN put up yesterday or so, if you don't want to just watch the gameplay from someone who downloaded the leaked version.
I have good feelings about this game.

still can't stand his suit design, it's just a male muscle anatomy modeled with a snowboarding mask =/
game looking action packed and cool tho, but kinda generic and samy all around.

We'll see when the game is officially released if the single player is any good.

Noooooooooo!!!!! Not the Metlife Building! You bastards!
But in all seriousness, looks nice. Though the story seems kinda obvious. Race occupied Earth. Race fled underground from some extinction event. Humans replace race as dominant species. Race wants their spot back. Still looks fun irregardless.

Kind of disappointed that the story seems so similar to the first game, with there being aliens underground and all. I also think that changing the setting from a more open jungle environment to the closed in city is going to take away from the options that the first game provided to the player. It seems they improved the use of the nanosuit though, changing from one mode to the other in the first game was tedious and would have been even more so with console controls. When one of the guys at Crytek came out and said that consoles are holding games back because of their dated hardware it left a sour taste in my mouth, especially when the sequel to their last major release is going multiplatform this time around. If anything I think hardware limitations helps breed creativity in game development. But I digress, I am excited about Crysis 2 and welcome both the streamlining and new additions to the gameplay.

Thus looks like it could be pretty good.

A city setting?
Could Crysis 2 be open-world?

They just took some ideas from several science fiction movies. Cloverfield and War of the Worlds spring to mind. War of the Worlds had aliens living underground for hundreds of years, Cloverfield had big monsters taking down New York. A lot of the cinematics in this trailer were similar to Cloverfield as well.
