Congrats guys, I'm definitely willing to sit through an ad at the very start if it's going to help you and not just JTV. This is definitely a great thing for 4PP and I'm glad to see JTV giving you recognition for all you've done for their site. Good luck, and of course keep up the great work.

Sounds awesome. It's great to hear things are getting better. I feel pretty bad knowing David has been spending quite a bit to keep the site alive.

It sounds ok with me. Some ads don't bother me much and if it's just a short ad before the broadcast, then that's even less offensive.

Seeing as you guys would be getting 50% of the money made on the ads, I do have some questions and forgive me if these questions are kinda dumb, I'm not that techno savy:

1) I'm assuming the money is accumulated by the amount of people that have watched the ads shown on the feed. I usually watch the feed via the live button on the site instead of JTV itself. Could I still watch from there or would I need to go onto JTV directly for it to count.

2) What kind of ad is it? Pop up ad or a short video ad like they sometimes do before videos on Youtube? I've been useing Firefox's pop up blocker, so I haven't seen any of the ads so far on the feed. Would I need to turn that off or something?

You guys have my full support with this. Like you said its about time JTV stepped up and are finally offering you guys something. Three straight years of broadcasting every night for several hours at a time, and sticking by the service despite hardships (like the ability to highlight being taken away for a while). Loyalty to that level deserves to be rewarded and commended.

I hope you guys are able to use this to build an even better product than what you already have. Fortune smiles upon the hardworking, and apart from the actual designers and developers who make the games we love, I honestly don't know of a harder working bunch than you guys. Congrats, you deserve it.

It's great to see that you guys have got such a great oppertunity, I've been watching and listening for 2 years now so it's no problem for me to watch an short add before watching one of you guys play for hours on end. Can't wait to see if this leads on to something better.

Totally okay with this.

It's a natural progression on the "ladder of success", so to speak. Bandwidth is expensive. Especially for a site like this that has to host a community, AND a service to allow downloading of what can be quite large mp3 files.

But I'm glad to see you guys becoming more successful year after year. I've been listening for almost 100 shows now (since episode 121), and the increase in popularity since then is fairly astounding. I've had a blast watching this transformation over the past two years.

That is good news to hear. Especially since having a website can be pretty expensive. I do have a question though. People who have the Better JTV app, will they still be able to see the Ads also? I know the Better JTV app blocks ads and random videos that like to pop up at the most random of times so, will those people be excluded from this?

Congrats on being chosen for this partner program guys! I think this is a great opportunity to make this show even more better, and you guys should use this partnership. I wouldn't mind waiting 10-30 seconds if in the end it helps you guys financially.

I've always thought that the broadcasts are more entertaining when you're really having fun and getting into it. Definitely worth a little ad at the beginning.

I've been doing this every night for so long for free. Can't wait to finally tell my parents I get directly paid for playing video games. And I didn't even have to tweak the graphics in level 3!!!

Congrats 4pp, to be honest you guys should get something for broadcasting every night with the amount of traffic your channel produces for JTV. I do have some question though:

1. Will the ads that run in the beginning of the broadcast run again if I pause and then resume later on?

2. Will the ads run again if you cut the feed to switch consoles or to adjust the feed quality?

3. (someone already asked this , but i might as well put it in)
What kind of an ad is it, like is it an ad in the video player itself (like youtube) or is it some kind of popout?

it's pretty mind-blowing knowing how much work and dedication you put into all of your work for no direct payment... Knowing that you'll finally recieve economic support is great news but hard to believe seeing how late jtv picked up your popularity and effort...

I'm fine with this and I've switched to firefox since but I hate how jtv doesn't have opera support. After the ad I couldn't click on anything on the page so my video would just continuously run with no way to comment or pause or highlight.

Will you guys be selling ad space on the site as well? That space on the left looks like its dieing to be used.

Isn't Destructoid's live broadcast a partner, too?
They use Bing ads, and get can click something at any time to play an ad during the broadcast so they can get some money. But they kinda do it too much. If 4PP is getting the same thing, I'm good with it as long as we aren't getting "Binged" (as Destructoid calls it) every 5-10 minutes.

Considering the fact that this is going to be the 94th (or more depending on how quick I post this), I think its pretty clear that this a huge, great step in the right direction, and you should quit thinking about whether or not this is the 'right' thing to do. You guys have given me so much content from the stream, and Ive been listening to the podcast at least a year and a half, maybe two, and considering the fact all you've got off me is Ad money, how the hell can I complain? You guys are putting in so many hours and so much money, especially precious in this downturn, just for us guys; whatever you can do to make money, and ultimately live easier, that's fine by me.

And just for the record, I listen to shit load of podcasts, including Giant Bomb, and the 1up podcasts, and ive ALWAYS thought you guys were better than them, and ive ALWAYS hoped you guys could get even a fraction of their success. Hopefully this a big tep towards it.

I go to many sites to pick up content, but that is about it for other sites. You guys have great content to give, I care about your opinions and perhaps most importantly this community is a great place for interaction. It sounds kind of corny, but finding this site, the community and you guys has reassured me I do want to pursue a career in this industry.

This is great news! Glad you guys are making progress.

My only complaint so far is that sometimes it seems whatever ad tries to play at the start crashes my Firefox browser. I don't know if any ads play besides one for Bing. If so, any other ad at the start, besides Bing, is crashing my Firefox. Don't know if I can get confirmation on this though.

Regardless, to me, it's a minor complaint and it doesn't deter me at all from restarting Firefox until I can get it to show without crashing.

Hope the ads help out tremendously. :D
