Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions was a jarring but strangely satisfying deviation from the Spider-Man formula that kept getting worse with each release. This is thanks to a relatively unknown developer under the Activision umbrella called Beenox. Well as of yesterday, it seems that Activision was happy with the changes that were made and is content with the work Beenox has done on the series. For the forseeable future, it would seem that Spider-man has a new home...

Where Beenox takes the series from here is anybody's guess but the team has shown interest in basing entire games around some of the alternate universes (Noir or 2099 specifically). Personally, I would love to see them merge the more cinematic experience of Shattered Dimensions with the classic open-world or semi-open-world design. Perhaps even deviate from some of the more hokey, comic book stylings of late. Whatever they do, their primary concern should be in making Spider-Man relevant in gaming once again.

I agree with what Brad said on the feed (when he played through Shattered Dimensions) how a game fully focused on Noir Spider-Man would be a really fun stealth game. They would just need to iron out a few gameplay kinks from Shattered Dimensions. I hope to see that after they plop out the obligatory movie tie-in game.

I hope they make Ultimate Spiderman 2.
The original was one of my personal favorite spiderman games last gen.

yeah Noir was one of the best dimensions in Shattered Dimensions. I really hope for an open world or semi-open world for Noir. They just need to work out some of the flaws...like I know the Noir spiderman is all about stealth, but the stealth gameplay wasnt really that great and was buggy.

If they are going to make an open world Spiderman game, they need to make the Statue of Liberty actual size. That shit was tiny in Spiderman 2.

For a NEW Spidey game i liked the concept of Spiderman 2 with the open world of New york, so they should do that again but make it as detailed as GTA 4's city.
They should also do a different approach like in the hitman games there was so many different ways to tackle a mission, why cant they do that for spidey like the daredevil charging in guns blazing or a stealth option or perhaps another option involving recruiting people or working with the police etc etc. I know it would take time to do but it would be worth it in the end.
Also instead of making it a movie tie in perhaps they should do their own story, from like his origins up then do original sequels rather than cramming to make a game for or just before/after the release of the film. Well thats my ideas anyways.
Sidenote: I agree with arxidus, the statue of liberty was pretty much a midget in spidey 2 get it sorted : P

Honestly how are they going to do this? I've played a couple spidey games and enjoyed myself, but it seems like there is too much "bad rep" from the previous games that i really cannot see what they can do with it to improve.

I don't know I've only played 2 good spider man games and that was SM2 and Ultimate Spider Man.

I doubt we'll see a open world spider man from these guys but I think it should be interesting nonetheless
