VGA 2010 Trailer Round Up

Wow, Mass Effect 3 AND Elder Scrolls 5 coming out next Holiday season? Wow guess I'll be spending the holidays locked in the game room.

But knowing the size and scale of these games, I wouldn't be surprised if either or both of them got delayed to early 2012.

And I thought that we're up to the point where CG movie footage for games is not enough to make us interested, but the actual gameplay footage we were hoping. Thor was a fucking waste of space, SSX isn't SSX anymore, Resistance 3 having too much live action footage, and so on. People were anticipating for more than that, but instead it's more teasers (in which we'll find out more on the better gaming events than fucking Spike's 2 hour "VGA" joke show).

What I fear for Bethdesda's Skyrim being worked on the Gamebryo engine once again. If they're going to release the game next year, chances are that they're using an heavily upgraded Gamebryo engine. I wouldn't be surprised if Skyrim had those familiar glitches and game-breaking BS that Oblivion was known for.

I doubt mass effect 3 and elder scrolls 5 will be out in holiday 2011, you know games as big as those might get pushed back. I am interested in the new SSX game, hopefully it will be good. Everything else seemed great, but I heard that Bioware will be putting multiplayer in mass effect 3. I seriously hope that they are not putting multiplayer into that game, because it kinda puts the idea in your mind that they could of spent the money and time on the single player game...which should be fucking huge and all of your choices have huge consequences as well plus some good character development. This is the last mass effect (well thats what was known) so it better be fucking long and fucking epic.

Well, that's interesting. The only trailer that really caught my eye was the one for MassEffect, and whatever Insane is. Not too much we didn't already know about, but Insane coming from Del Toro sounds intriguing.

All these trailors do is build anticipation for the title. They do a damn good job at it too. How many of these games can you NOT wait to see game-play footage from?

As far as ME3 & Elder Scrolls 5 hitting next holiday season, that's not a surprise. From what has been rumored, Skyrim has been worked on since the release of Oblivion. As for ME3, the assets & engine are already there. Finishing off the trilogy by 2011 seems more likely than Skyrim.

Either way -- if The Last Guardian & L.A Noir land on 2011 also, it looks to be the best year ever.

Cool, Skyrim and Dragons a true Norse style game. But I don't expect this game till 2012, something in premise this big (I hope it's open world :( )is going to have alot schedule changes. Don't know what Bethesda's attitude in regards to game testing will be by that point. We may still have a chance to watch Dragons sink through the floor ROFL. Also I'm Pissed with South Peak. Why are they delaying Two Worlds 2 to the end of January ? In Germany the European publisher/distributor dealing with Two Worlds 2 released the game last October ! I saw someone streaming this game on JTV and it looks so much better than that terrible first game.

Truthfully, all I cared about was the Mass Effect 3 trailer. Elder Scrolls 5 looks cool, if I had ever even played one to begin with. InSane is just going to stir up chat asking Brad to play it. Uncharted 3 makes me think if I really should have gotten a 360 to begin with. Rest of the show was joke though...

I had a WTF?! moment when I saw the Mortal Kombat world premiere.

I'm sad Saints Row 3 was a no show. They didn't have it ready at E3 and said it would be at the VGA's this year.

Concerning The Elder Scrolls 5, taken directly from Bethesda's Twitter:

"Seeing lots of speculation about #tesv game engine. It's brand new... and it's spectacular!"

My wildest dreams have come true with the next Elder Scrolls game being set in Skyrim. I just hope they take what they learned from Fallout and revamp the scaled leveling system and combat.

Not a single thing up their that I'm not excited for.

That's some damn good CG at the Arkham City trailer... And looks like Uncharted 3 will have water effects, that's pretty cool.

I'll wait for the GOTY edition of Elder Scrolls 5 before I buy it. It releases too close to Uncharted 3 and I would rather wait to get the GOTY edition since the DLC itself will probably cost at least $5 each and there will probably be tons of it.

Another painful year on my wallet that's for sure, I hope SSX comes out sometime early next year so I have when all the snow melts and I get that Snowboard craving, I haven't found a snowboard game to really feed that itch in a long time and as for TESV from what I understand Skyrim is a mountainous snow region so that leaves a lot of questioning as to how they will handle the environment. I would have rather seen Summerset Island be used for TESV simply because lore describes the geography to be very diverse.

It makes sense in a way that they just have teasers for the VGA's and i expect it to be like this next year. Have to wait for E3 for gameplay :/

Prototype 2? I thought Radical got shut down.

I just can't wait until Prototype 2, man I loved chopping people up in that game. Also Mass Effect 3 and Elder Scrolls 5 look amazing! :)

Did the narrator in the Elder Scrolls teaser sound really cheesy or annoying to anyone else? I'm glad that Elder Scrolls 5 is actually being shown now, but I'm not really digging what type of main story the game will have, but the main quest line probably won't be spectacular nor does it need to be.

I hope that Earth's importance isn't overly empathized in Mass Effect 3, I kinda lean towards supporting space as a whole in the series rather than strongly supporting humanity. But teasers for all the Mass Effect games have been misleading. I wouldn't be surprised if you have to Sacrifice Earth/the people on earth to benefit someone else and vice versa.

I couldn't take the new serious tone of SSX seriously, snowboarding with flying squirrel wings kinda overpowers the whole gritty action/rescue feel, it's hard to take situations seriously if there is a snowboard of surfboard involved.
