The whole points system, never really bothered me. Ever since I was young I had to exchange money for things like arcade tokens so I guess I became used to it early on. So I've never really cared that Microsoft and Nintendo use their own currency for their online shops. But do I find it annoying when I have points just lying around? You bet. I currently have 40 Microsoft Points just sitting there and the only thing worth that much is a pair of Tomb Raider Avatar sun glasses. I guess that's better than my other roommate Dwight who literally has 62 points sitting on his Xbox 360. But I have found some entertainment by the ridiculousness that occurs when trying to purchase things with these points and for those of you who like laughing at others misfortunes, here's three other instances we at 4Player Podcast had over the last 3 months.

From when Brad decided to buy DeathSpank.

From when I went to buy a game on Wii Shop.

From my Best Buy Rewards Zone Account.

Haha that's great, I don't normally have this problem since if I want something off psn I just go reload my visa gift card with the exact amount at a CVS. Yeah I have to drive to the store, but it beats having left Over cash.

I know what you mean though cause my friend complains all the time about how he always has leftover points but can never use them.

Not as bad as 10 msp, but how the hell do you get 62?

Having only purchased games through PSN, I haven't really had this trouble with purchasing games. But I do understand the frustration with the online reward points stuff for online shopping.... drives me insane.

This is exactly why they love micro-transactions so much. It's all engineered to be like this.

Yeah, that Best Buy one sadly seems like the equivalent to a kick in the nuts.

Lol, fake Microsoft monies. I still have about 800 points laying around in my account. It's dumb. I hate the points system.

Ya it really sucks how the whole system is geared to essentially make you waste money.

This stuff annoys the hell out of me too. No matter what you do, you're always wasting money thanks to the exchange rates :/
