Please let this be good. I really really want this game to be good. With other personal picks like Ghost Trick and Lost in Shadow pushed back to January of next year, I'm still looking for a relatively unknown title to wow me. And out of all the games to be released this year, Majin & the Forsaken Kingdom was the biggest potential to slip under 99% of people's radar.

At first glance, most people will immediately write it off as a poor man's Last Guardian. I'm not here to argue that they don't look similar or which came first, but Namco Bandai has stated development for this title began long before Last Guardian was announced. After that who knows? It's all speculation and therefore unimportant.

What is relevant is that the game is being developed by Game Republic, makers of Genji, Folklore, and the Japanese 360 Launch Title Every Party. It was founded by Okamoto Yoshiki who previously worked for Konami and then Capcom producing such games as Street Fighter II.

Forsaken Kingdom will look to combine problem solving, platforming, and combat, which I'm all for. There could be some interesting puzzles in conjunction with the giant and the story could be substantial enough to push the game along. Also Okamoto is considered as a legendary talent in Japan, something I've yet to experience here in America.

With Majin comes few expectations. I know this isn't the best way to set up a game, but some of my best experiences have come from places where I'd least expect. With little or no word from Last Guardian this year at TGS, I could see Majin capitalizing on some of the freshness.

My biggest worry? Localization and voice acting as most videos I've seen have that giant speaking like a 3rd grader. Also I'm still a little doubtful this will release this year. Oh and finally, Game Republic also worked on Clash of the Titans the game but I'll chalk that up to the movie license.

When the music first started at 0:20 seconds it really reminded me of Zelda. Just to push it further and have Queen Gohma's older brother at 1:00 in haha!

Looks like a great game, I'll be waiting anxiously.

It looks pretty interesting. The art sort of reminds me of Enslaved in my opinion but that's a good thing. If you could play as the Majin in some parts, that would be pretty cool.

Played this for a while at Gamescom back in August. Really enjoyed it actually, I'm pretty hyped for the game!

Hehe, I remember hearing about this game. First thing I thought was "Wow, a game named after me and I wasn't allowed a cameo. NOT FAIR!"

I've been keeping up with this through Game Informer and it looks like it could be good. Definitely excited to see what comes of it.
