Lost in Shadow was announced a while back as a new puzzle platformer for the Nintendo Wii.  A trailer came out and I thought it looked pretty interesting almost having a Ico feel to the environment. I wasn't sure about it then, but I am now.

The game is not played as a traditional game in the sense that you are looking at the character and the environment, but you are looking at the shadows of these environments.  When you are running up a staircase you don't run up the steps, you run up the banister.  To me artistic style games are usually better than more realistic games visually.  It's easier to think something looks good when you don't really know what it is supposed to look like in the first place.

You advance through areas of the game by manipulating then environment with the Wii Remote by pointing at certain objects and rotating them or moving them.  You then can jump or walk on their shadow and advance through the level.  Some areas of the game have a device that actually rotates the world horizontally 90 degrees to chnage your path.

The only downside I can see to the game is how much they can add to it to make it seem less repediditive. I only played a few levels which were a lot of fun, but I would like to play a little more to see if it is worth the forty dollars it's set at for release in January.

Looks really good. Too bad I don't have a Wii to play it.

Fun puzzles + Inventive art style = Good time. Always.

    Also, repediditive. Lol.

Is this Limbo mixed with that light and shadow game on the move?
The similarities of the two seems very evident here to me.
