There was once a girl, I can't remember how we met. I do remember we worked together. We had the same profession, although she liked to handle things a little more hands off than I did. She was always reluctant to get her hands dirty so she'd always stay back and deal with situations at a distance. She learned more by watching than she did doing. A pretty smart girl she was. I, on the other hand, loved to mix it up. I was always jumping head first into situation, at a moments notice, never thinking about the consequences. I had my youth, my talent, my resources. I didn't need her help or at least that what I liked to think.
Deep down I knew she was behind me. Giving me support. Being there to back me up. You could say it helped me to be at my best. I put a lot of faith in her.
As far as our job? I guess you could call us exterminators. We'd get hired to clear out a joint. We'd have to deal with all sorts of creepy crawlies. Oh, did I tell you? She was big into art. That and she'd always have her nose in a book. I swear, there was this one time. We were on a job, she completely lost herself in the paintings. She spent all her time looking at them, admiring them, getting sucked right into them. Drove me nuts. She had me running all over that place trying to chasing her down. All while still on the clock!
Well it turned out it didn't sit too well with the owner. He was some sort of hot shot Duke or something. Lord Brauner, he called himself. We pissed him off a might and he sent his two daughters on us. Boy were they a handful. One was all ill tempered, trying to hit us with a stick. While the other was more calm but man can you believe it? She threw ice at us? Freaking bitch threw ice! I mean, she threw other things, but still where in this day and age do you have the time to go get water, freeze it, and then hurl it at somebody? It was crazy.
In the end, we find out those two girls, weren't even his daughters. I didn't want to get too involved in that situation but it was pretty messed up. So as a responsible adult, I reported him to Child Protection Services. After that his empire kinda came crumbling down. I mean, you can't really survive a PR nightmare like that, even if you are royalty.
Eventually, the girl and I went our separate ways. We had our fair share of adventures. But I think she wanted to settle down to a life of quite relaxation and study. And I was still a bit too young to be held down by a relationship. It wasn't her, I just wasn't interested in anyone at the time. Although she does claim that I was charmed by another woman and that she had to smack me out of it before I made a huge mistake. But I don't believe her. I'm not so weak willed. And it'll forever be a debate between us.
More recently I ran into her again. She was still the same girl. Blue Skirt. Knee Highs. She'd become a lot more accomplished and a lot more popular with the guys. But what can you say when the girls' got skills. We started hanging out with a group of mutual friends. Hitting up the same old night scene. Reminiscing of previous work related incidents. It reminded me of the good old days. Except now she's a lot more career driven. It's funny, the roles have kinda reversed now. I'm kinda winding down while she's heading out but it was cool to be able to see her again, hang out, catch up. She's still backing me up, even now years later. She tried to help me out by trying to set me up with one of her friends, Shanoa. But I'm perfectly happy with the memories I had with her.
Thanks for always having my back, Charlotte.
Love,
David

Haha, that was a good post. It reminds me of Joesph's open letter to Mario post a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to see more post like these in the future.

good to see that "women I gave my heart to" is back, they are always so fun to read =D
and as inthenameofharmon pointed out, Josephs "open letter" post is pretty similar; I'd like to see more of these in the future, it's fun to view videogame characters from another more realistic angle; such as making Mario a depressing individual obsessed with his one love who is apparently getting laid with Luigi, lol =P
also, I think David's rather romantic approach to his in-game characters is a nice change of pace.

Great post! I can't wait for Brad's post about a certain blue lady. If only he could stop looking at that one picture of her, and write a post about his feelings.
