I really am getting sick of posting about Bond.... really. It makes me look like crazy obsessed fan boy but it seems that someone out there (i'm looking at you Yamaha Casey...) is bent on ensuring that I do get hyped about the upcoming original bond game, Blood Stone, from Activision/Bizarre Creations. With that said, I present to you, the first taste of this fully original Bond Game, starring Daniel Craig.
I'll be honest, that was pretty insane. I am a little bit concerned as to whether they will fluidly blend the 3rd person elements with the take-downs and driving sequences. Visually, it seems that they have accomplished this pretty well but it really depends on the control scheme that they design for it.
Everything required to make an entertaining Bond experience seems to be present and polished to a level that I have not really seen from a Bond game before. Take-downs look brutal, satisfying, and easy to execute and the driving sequences appear to be a great blend of adrenaline pumping action and cinematic presentation. My only concern going forward is whether or not Bizarre Creations will restrain themselves and spread the pacing a bit. If the action isn't broken up by exploration, stealth, or even something as wild as an on-foot chase sequence, then the game might seem way too hokey and over-the-top.
I am officially excited for this game but now I have an urge to go back and play one of the 3 original bond titles on the PS2. This is the question I pose to the community: Which original Bond game (Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, or Everything or Nothing) was best and for what reasons?

Whichever game had the blue background with a black silhoutte.
That was my goldeneye, too bad I forget the name though.

That was Nightfire

My personally Nick i enjoyed Nightfire with a better mix of car chases stealth missions and quick use of environments to kill enemies quickly. The bonus is a decent multiplayer for feed view as a possibility?

I liked nightfire the most- though Everything or Nothing did have some interesting ideas. With the recent re-imagining of Bond as being more of a brawler and active character, I do think that a 1st person bond at this point won't work.

"If the action isn’t broken up by exploration, stealth, or even something as wild as an on-foot chase sequence, then the game might seem way too hokey and over-the-top."
Your concerns are on par with my HOPES for this game. That is kind of funny.
Any James Bond game/movie that isn't tremendously hokey and over-the-top is not a James Bond property I want any part of. That is THE draw for me when it comes to James Bond games/movies/anything. Just "stupid fun" over-the-top, hokeyness galore. Popocorn game if you so will.
My concern would probably be if they try to get fancy, and make this game into something it is not. Like implement too many different game mechanics and end up having one of them being good.
Honestly, I didn't see anything in this gameplay footage that I haven't seen being done better in other video games. But I am fine with that, because this game has one thing other games don't. BOND. JAMES BOND. For the love of god, I truly hope they turn the hokey and the over-the-topness up to MAX and bring me a fun, unpretentious popcorn game with few, simple and well-done game mechanics that work well enough for me to not be distracted from the fact that I am motherfucking James Bond, killing fools, doing stunts and banging women, left and right.
Fuck. yes. Color me hyped!

Nightfire was the only game of those 3 that I played, but I really enjoyed it - it felt a lot like GoldenEye to me. I heard terrible things about Agent Under Fire that, while they may be true or not true (or simply fanboy bashing), would probably prevent me from enjoying it even if I did pop the disc in because I'd be too caught up in those preconceptions.
Everything or Nothing had a very interesting premise (a 3rd-person Bond?! Say it isn't so!) but for some reason I never got around to picking it up. It seemed like it was extremely cinematic and had a grand scale, though, so I'm sure I would have thoroughly enjoyed it. But yeah, since I only played Nightfire, that gets my vote.
