I'm at a loss for words. I'm not sure if this is a case of mismanagement. Or missing their target audience. Or whatever. But someone fucked up.
Recently, while on YouTube waiting for a music video to load, I came across the Advertisement for Just Cause 2's $10,000 Best Stunt video Contest. I became somewhat interested so I decided to look into rules and clicked on the above video from the apparently Official Just Cause 2 YouTube Channel.
Seriously dude, who's idea was this? There are soooo many different ways they could have made this video interesting. Somehow they failed to hit on any of them. On the base level, it's just a person sitting there reading off the rules, which is fine. But that's it. There's no interesting graphics, no explosions, no in game footage, no camera transitions, and NO MUSIC. It's like they decided to record this in house one lazy Monday afternoon.
For something like this, involving Just Cause 2 and a stunt fest, they sure picked a rather boring way to shoot a Rules video. Also, as much as I hate to point this out, they picked a rather plain person to do it. It's not that I find her unattractive or that a super model in a bikini would have been a better choice. But it's plain to see her image and wardrobe is not exactly matching the attitude in which she's trying to convey or the excitement that should be tied in with a contest such as this. Everything from this video except for maybe the subject matter feels like it's out of one of those, "Pregnant? We Can Help" campaigns or at least an Anti-Drug one. The question is, if you saw this video, randomly on the internet, how excited/interested would you be?
Well, I'm still somewhat interested. Anyone know if one of Brad's older videos meets the requirements to be submitted?

I was distracted by her ears personally.

I remember Brad once had the idea to bail from a chopper, beat it to the ground, ride a propane tank back up, and grapple the helicopter. That sounds like it would be worth ten grand.

HOLY SH** Look at them ears!!! Fly dumbo! FLY!!

Very odd indeed, almost seems like it's done by some random person with their camera at home that has nothing to do with Just Cause..

the one where Brad jumps out of his chopper and manages to get in it before it crashes and lands it is pretty good. but people are insane, i bet some asian kid will make a video where he brings jesus back to life in game or something and win.

Beast...
I think the one where Brad is trying to grapple a falling plane OR WHATTTAAAH!

wow...um...i didn't know Dumbo had a child with a human...
anyway, possibly the WATAHH clip? Unfortunately the clip of him freefalling with the heli then getting back in and landing it, then "fuck it, i'm out"-ing contains no parachute :(

I remember seeing a gameplay version of this having the things David talked about. It was awesome but this is stupid

all I have to say is,"F*ck it....I'm Out"
Jesus. That video could have been much more appealing in so many ways but this one :/

Did the marketing team think they chose the right person to do this video? At least fix her hair to cover her dumbo ears. =|

The fuck was that shit?? A $10,000 contest is a pretty huge deal, why would they make such an amateur promo video for it?
Aside from that, I'm surprised that they're offering such a significant prize just for doing something creative with their game. Definitely interested to see the results.

Why is it that girl in the vid reminds me so much of Smeagol? Hmmm...

I find the girl attractive...hot even. Am I weird?

and if she had a propane tank behind her and said "good luck. fuck it, i'm out!" and flew away i wouldn't care how plain the video was =P.

That is hilarious.
These things are usually handed out to the PR firm of the publisher and it seems they either did not get any budget at all from S-E to put together a decent video for the contest, or they put all that money in their backpockets, recorded a shitty video in 5 mins and called it a day.

She reminds me of a grown female version of Dewey from "Malcolm in the middle" Or just grown version, I don't know.

Brads Helicopter Demo video for sure.
Also, the person who is directing this lives in a different country, but she could hear him from USA. FACT.
