When I was younger, there was a time that I was just any normal American kid growing up. It was around the time in elementary school. I was in class drawing F-14's and Ninja Turtles. Hulk Hogan was the American Hero. I wanted to be like Mike. I had tons of G.I Joe's. This was way before my college years and my exploration into Eastern Cultures.

I recently went back to reevaluate one of my past loves. Looking back now, I can say that the fusion of these two entirely different worlds was an amazing concept. Individually they were huge in developing a growing boys imagination.

But together, my childhood was rocked to the core. Want a hint?
Robots plus Dinosaurs.

Yes, The Dinobots.

Transformers were wickedly cool, being a robot with a human form one minute but then transforming into all sorts of cars and vehicles also the next. It combined two beloved childhood icons, cars and robots. But that wasn't enough. But where could they go from there? How could they top that?

There came up a way. The Autobots were in trouble. Decepticons were pushing them back. They needed reinforcements. Who could they turn to?

Nobody except a crazy bunch of misfit Dinosaur robots. They were a group you had no control over them, they were as primal as their Robot Dino Shell. It was a risk to let them loose on the world. Sure your enemies would be destroyed but would you go along with them?

Man, it was AWESOME.
David

Now Nick, just because you're not the only one who likes Dinos in the group doesn't exempt you from any Dinosaur-related jokes for the foreseeable future.

Ew, Beast Wars was horrible, in my area, it was always the show kids my age dreaded coming on, only having to painstakingly sit through in order to move on the the next awesome show. Oh and Saiyabots, that shit would have been sweet, Mecha-Raditz!

Hey beast Wars wasn't horrible i think many people enjoyed it compared to the new transformer season like Armada and stuff also Beast Wars also called Beasties in Canada later in the season got really dark like when optimus has to kill himself to save the planet.

God, I remember watching them when I was young and when I got to college, I tracked the dinobots episodes down again and watched them. You know whenever Grimlock, Swoop, Snarl, Slag and Sludge showed up, things were about to get real. They were almost the only group that could easily take down Devastator without a problem. And don't forget about the Insecticons.

    "Me Grimlock is strongest autobot."

It kind of makes me sad that Michael Bay wants to bring them into the third Transformers movie. Look how bad they messed up Devastator.

"Me Grimlock not care, whole planet fall apart! Make no difference to me, Grimlock."

The Dinobots were created to combat Devastator, though personally I always preferred the Decepticon behemoth. Still, the Dinobots never failed me for comedic relief.

Man, now I need to watch The Transformers: The Movie again. Truly my favourite incarnation in the entire Transformers universe.
