All I can say that I want this game. I saw the trailer and was completely interested in what was going on in the lives of the six people at the "Hospital." And then after seeing the gorgeous case design, I all but ordered the game from importers.

You want to know why I didn't order it?

Because it's coming to America under the name Trauma Team and before the Japanese release. I don't know how you guys feel about which method is a more appealing way to attract potential buyers, but I know which way worked for me.

Before I saw this trailer, Trauma Team was a half interest. I had seen some advertisements passed out last year at E3. The art was pretty but was extremely reminiscent of older Trauma Center games. Even the game play seemed like minor additions to the motion controlled previous iterations.

But in Japan, it looks like this game is being marketed more like a spiritual successor, similar in look and feel but different in concept and design. The story and characters seem to be fleshed out, as was missing in the Trauma Center/Caduceus games. The focus looks to be on the Hospital and the tension, drama, and antics going on there. While here in the states, they're still looking to focus on medical interests and banking off the Trauma name, which I'm not too sure that there is all that much name to go off of. I had no clue there were going to be cutscenes and voice dialogue!

Seeing this trailer and box art have completely changed my predetermined opinions of this game. I am definitely going to play this game when it comes out as I want to least get my hands on it before I write it off. Now the questions is does Trauma Team have Japanese Voice Option? And where do I go to get an alternate cover?

Do you feel the same as me?
David

When I saw the first gameplay videos and trailers for this game I felt like I needed to hold back as it almost seemed like a copy of its predecessors but with more character trailers coming out lately, it feel as if the game is completely different and thats really reasurred me to the point where I will probably get the game on it's release date.

P.S. I have to agree, that box art looks great!

I've never played the Trauma Center games, but this will perhaps be one I rent and then go onto buying in the future. From what I understand, the developers have made several declarations that this game can be treated as a new game in the 'series' and that no previous knowledge of the Trauma Center games is required.

Also, as you have mentioned, I haven't seen someone argue that the previous trauma center games have GREAT plots. Apparently they had quite a bit of story, but not much substance. As for that Trauma Team trailer you posted, I see this isn't so much the case for this game. Oh and the western release box art really is subpar to the Japanese box art, I like the GTA esque style art theme they've applied to it and that dude in the upper left totally looks like Spike from Cowboy Bebop.

if anything, this Japanese cover and trailer suggested a more colourful character than in the previous games.
can be a bit over the top though, and I still quite like the NA cover. If only they put in both pictures in the box.

I'll wait for some reviews to roll in, and to hear your impressions, but I'm on the fence leaning towards picking it up. Sounds interesting enough, and I haven't played a decent Wii game in ages, but I gotta know if the gameplay functions well enough.

Actually, it is somewhat, almost, related to trauma center, because Naomi Kimishima (the white-hair girl) is from Trauma Center: Second Opinion. Anyways, as a fan of the series, I will most likely get it.

I actually like the seriousness of Trauma Team over this.

I'm kinda expecting the awesomeness that I loved about the first Trauma Center games to be here... though, I would say the Japanese version did the opposite for me that it did for you David.

Looks lke it will be good in terms of story with each character adding to the feel of the game.

From what gameplay videos I have seen looks pretty face paced....well as fast paced as proctology can be....Ouch.

She looks more like hinata from Naruto Shippuden,
and the guy to her left looks like sasuke... Kinda.
Anyway, looks like an interesting game and i am looking forward to checking it out.

Until atlus announces it's making Shin Megami Tensei 4, don't see much of any reason to look forward to anything they could possibly make.
