As many know (and much fewer care), yet another remake of Lunar: Silver Star Story will be coming to the PSP later this month. This remake is being handled by Xseed and not Working Designs (as it doesn't exist anymore), and some of the more faithful Lunar fans are very skeptical of the project. Fortunately, I hear the game maintains the light-hearted, funny, and adventurous tone of the original JRPG classic. The following is the new intro for the PSP re-remake:

It's the same intro as the Playstation version remake, but with a new song. It's alright, but it pales in comparison to the following Sega CD intro. The following song was on the soundtrack that came with the Playstation limited edition; but I never quite understood why I never heard the song in the game. Well... that is because it was from the intro to the original Sega CD version. This is one of the few things on the Internet actually worthy of the word "epic". They Japanese version had the same song as well -- it's just localized with English lyrics. Enjoy!

I hear Jenny Stigile reprises Luna's singing voice in this game.
The game looks alright, but I don't think I'll be getting considering it'll be released in March.

The biggest problem I have with the game is the fact that Yuri Lowenthal is voicing Alex. Anyone else would've been fine, but Yuri Lowenthal...? Ugh.
I hope Alex doesn't scream much or else I'll have flashbacks of Pizza Batt Man from NMH2.

I remember being a kid and borrowing my friend's Sega CD just so I could play through Lunar. I still remember it as one of my favorite console RPG experiences. I'll probably grab the PSP remake because I'm a shameless fanboy, but they would have gotten at least +1000000 bonus points from me if they had remade the game but kept the original intro.

Will you be getting Lunar for the PSP Brad? I know I'm looking forward to it. I never had a chance to buy/play Lunar or Lunar 2 on the PSX, so I'm looking forward to it!

Definitely going to pick up the psp re-remake, I've heard nothing but great things about this game, from the people who have played it, they all said they have loved it. I remember watching my brother play the remade PS1 version back in the day, didn't get a chance to try it out as he was on it all the time.

I never played any of the Lunar's but feel that I need to. When I saw this demo on PSN I snatched it right up. I actually really liked the visuals, sound, and story. Than I got to the battle mechanic. I just set my characters to auto and won every battle in the demo. I imagine that they will get harder and demand more attention but as far as I can tell you either hit, block, or perform a tech. I think I won't be buying this game. Not having a run feature (walking my ass slow as hell) is a deal breaker as well. Sorry Xseed. I hoped to play this game.

I wonder how XSeed's localization compare to Working Design. I actually liked WD's inclusion of pop culture references in the game so I hope they keep them. Especially when Ubisoft's version felt rather dry.
