I wanted to post this so everyone can check it out before I discuss it on the show. While I'm still very excited about playing this game upon release, I have some issues I want to discuss. Believe it or not my problems have nothing to do with controls, visuals, or even the quick time events -- they are complaints I wasn't expecting to have with this game.

Has anyone else tried the demo? What are your opinions?

I really want to try this game, though I can see some potential problems, I'll need to play the game to be sure.

I'm worried that when I'm trying to choose a dialog decision, I won't be able to read any of them, since I'm HD TV'less. Also, the action scenes seem a little hectic and, I for one, might not be able to distinguish what I'm supposed to be pressing.

i also thought that the dialogue options were kind of small especially since i'm sitting a foot away from mt HD tv. i also didn't know i could check under the white sheet. so i went back to my car it wouldn't let me go home. So i had to go all the way back to the body and check it out. and go all the way back to my car to go home.
anyways, the trailer that came with the demo made me so exited for the game because i kind of realized the possible spoiler in it. The music is going to be fuckin FANTASTIC. no dragon age bullshit in there. and everything else seems like it's going to be great.

I managed to crash the demo, and make cigarettes hover in mid-air but my impressions are overwhelmingly positive. I'm really excited for this to come out, there aren't too many games capable of evoking a real emotional response in me but just from the demo I could feel my emotions trying to push their way to the surface of my consciousness.

I'm considering playing the game in a different language. Since I don't know what the inflections in most phrases should sound like in other languages most shortcomings in the voice acting shouldn't bother me. The trouble is finding the right language...

To be honest I have mixed feelings on this game. I haven't played it so I don't feel like I have the right to say anything but I do plan to play it, I don't if I'll like though but you never know till you try.

I'll admit, the voice acting and the dialogue has me a little worried, especially coming off "Mass Effect 2". But I never expected it to be award winning. I think later on during some of the heavier moments in the game we might see them step it up a bit. My main concern is seeing how the story plays out,the roles that each character's affliction (Shelby's asthma,Jayden's drug use,Madison's insomnia,Ethan's trauma) will play in the coming events, and how much your decisions will really factor into what happens.

I think the story delivery is kinda lacking considering this game is suppost to be all about shooting. Like if the shooting in Call of Duty didnt feel good, it wouldnt be a good game at all....

My main gripe through the demo was with the interactions, what my problem was, is that most of the times I would have no clue as to what carrying out that interaction would cause, and seeing as how this game is based off of consequences that may come back to aid you or kick you in the b*lls later on in the game, a simple curiosity of what an interaction may do, may have severe consequences.

For example, in the demo, the hooker was crying because she was upset, I was exploring around the room, then in the empty space next to her on the bed was an interaction display, i thought he would perhaps sit next to her, other than that I had no idea he would actually touch her on the shoulder and cause her to get really p*ssed off, this could have really affected the consequences that happen between me and the hooker in the real game.

For me Heavy Rain will be one of the best games I have ever played. The demo was short but I enjoyed it. I can't wait for the full release. I have to play it full to have a clear view of the game and be able to give it a fair review.

I just played the demo, and enjoyed it so far. There are still things that suck for the game like the terrible dialogues and voice actors ("Thaanks!"), and it's also somewhat cliche but that's just how movie-like games are supposed to be in my opinion.

I think Heavy Rain as an interactive movie than a real game because the gameplay is pretty much leaning to the cinematic experience. I look forward to see how much can the story vary and how well the game can retain it's cinematic experience in the full version. Guess it remains a mystery until February 23rd.

Ive played the demo, and im impressed with it. The quicktime events are very fun, and i like the environment as well. But i did see you play it and that you were complaining about the voice acting, and the dialogue. Though i will agree that it isnt the best ive seen on any game, its still an experience. I think the main problem you have is that youve already played Uncharted 2, which you have mention that it has better dialogue and voice acting. Basically Uncharted 2 was game of the year by every magazine, website, everything, and now since your playing a game that you think is premised around the voice acting and dialogue, you think it isnt what you have expected. It difficult to explain, but all i know is that Heavy Rain is going to be an amazing game, dont judge it solely on the demo
