epicmickeyDespite the many rumors flying around about Game Informer's teaser advertisement (pictured below), the beans have officially been spilled.

Been itching to know what it means? If so,

At first, it was rumored that Game Informer had been bought by Disney, a rumor that wouldn't be surprising given Disney's recent acquisitions. Personally, my first instinct was the inevitable announcement of Kingdom Hearts 3. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a bit longer for that but something just as interesting may come from the magazine on their November issue. According to Gameinformer's official website, the issue will not only debut their new magazine design but will also reveal the first details on Disney and "Junction Point's" new game entitled "Epic Mickey". Below is the full, wrap around cover of the magazine:
7558.epicmickey-cover.jpg-610x0The game is apparently a Wii exclusive that depicts a surreal, steampunk style of the disney universe in which Mickey Mouse manipulates the environment with a magic paint brush (Okami anyone?). While I can honestly say that I would prefer some details on Kingdom Hearts 3, I admit to being genuinely interested in a new Disney game IP given their success with Kingdom Hearts; especially if the concept art (pictured below) proves to be real:

P.S. - A video interview with Warren Spector will be posted online later today to coincide with the game's big reveal.

The concept art being that fucked up, I knew Nick would be interested in this.

I remember seeing the concept art a while ago and from a technical standpoint all of the sketched characters looked really poor. I really thought it was a hoax just from the quality of the art. You'd think a high-profile Disney project would attract better artists than the amateur they hired...

A steampunk Mickey game developed by Warren Spector sounds far more interesting than another generic Squeenix mashup RPG. And damn I must say the concept art looks amazing.

This is far more interesting than a (what are we on now?) fifth Kingdom Hearts game.

I might have a reason to hook up my Wii again.

these 2 topics are always on my mind: 1.Mickey is badass. 2. Kingdom Hearts combat is the BOMB! if they had that kind of combat in other games i don't know what I'd do!

Yes, I've seen the artwork before and it does look promising......until I saw Wii Exclusive. If it is indeed a Wii exclusive, all my interest in this project will go away permantly

Interesting that Disney is allowing their characters to be some so warped and twisted looking.
