saboteurlogoThis holiday season is crowed, despite many of the major titles moving to a more practical, safer release window. It's hard to overt your attention from huge games like Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, or Borderlands but lets not forget about the underdogs. There are still some great games that have stuck to their guns and are hoping to come out the other side on a positive note. Today, I want to give one of my most anticipated games of 2009 some love. At PAX 2009, I had a nice chat with one of the developers from Pandemic about their upcoming title, The Saboteur and the game actually ended up being one of my games of show. It plays great and seems to have a lot to offer outside of just being a standard third person shooter. The game offers excellent storytelling, elements of racing, stealth, and a subtle but beautiful approach to presentation. Without further delay, check out the new trailer:

For full impressions of my time spent with Saboteur, download our PAX day 1 podcast which can be found here.

What are your thoughts on the game? Is anyone else planning on picking this game up day 1?

But in all seriously a don't consider this game to be a "little guy" This game has impressed me from the first day i saw it and i would say there is a good chance that not only this game be amazing but also it will sell like crazy.

Isn't it made by the same people who made Mercenaries 2?
I'll be approaching this "little guy" with caution and probably leave it off my radar until some good reviews or an impressive demo makes me aware of its supposed awesomeness.

I like the core idea though. GTAIV-style elements with coverbased shooting, cars/racing and a big open city + cool experimental artstyle + climbing and platforming.
Let's hope it's all executed well and they apply a fun varied mission formula/design to it all.

Yeah, the concept behind this game had me hooked back when I first saw it. Hopefully the guys at Pandemic will live up to the hype that this game has and deliver, unlike what they did with Mercenaries 2.

I dunno, I'm still a little weary about investing my trust in Pandemic after Mercs 2. They used to be a fantastic company, but you know, EA happened.

So I'll most likely give this a rent.

Is it me or does this seem like a really awsome Assassins creed if you look at the climbing in the trailer its the same but it looks so much cooler. Anyone know the gun options and more RPG stuff that is in there or is there none at all?

I've been planning on getting Saboteur since E3. Anyways, my logic is new IPs > Sequels. I've waited a few years for AC2, what's a couple more months?
