The guys got some hands on time with No More Heroes 2 at PAX and now there is some more info about the game in a developer diary. It mostly covers general improvements like more types of beam katanas, a new camera that takes into account pathing and improved AI (showing groups of enemies working together against you). But there are a few more interesting tidbits.

The city fly-by at the beginning seems to depict two cities, one looking similar to the first game and one at night with skyscrapers (although this could just be a boss stage). While I do believe the first game's open world was tongue-in-cheek, improvements to the look or even traveling to a separate city for part of the game would be welcome.

This tongue-in-cheek design and accompanying commentary on the American gamer, something woefully overlooked in the first game, appears to be returning with Suda51 saying "that [boss battles] will build on one another to help reinforce the main story line."  The last major change outlined deals with the job missions, which appear to all be in 2D with retro styling. I hope this will simplify the jobs making them feel less like, well, a job.

Still no word on what that tiger in the corner really means though.

first off graphically it looks so much better then the last one. its not just a normal looking game with a cell shaded filter over it, its part of the style.
combat has been improved and so has the enemy design and the ai.

The Rep that I talked to at the booth told me that the tiger indicates "Ecstacy Mode"... she wouldn't divulge what that meant exactly but atleast we have a name for it...

Maybe that tiger has something to do with the special moves like in the last game? I remember there being some kind of cat having something to do with the moves in that game.

In the first game it served as a timer for your powers. I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed.
